Not anymore. The story changed course years ago. There’s two couples now. I get the feeling we won’t get anything substantial from Jian Yi and Zhan until after we reach the college arc where Jian Yi returns from his disappearance. There will be actual conflict and drama between them which means more story and chapters focusing on them as they rebuild their bond. Just my theory tho so take it with a grain of salt. （￣へ￣）

If you read the very early chapters they’re older there. Zhan lives alone, they drink, Jian Yi smokes (he doesn’t yet in the current chapters).
After that scene of Jian Yi sluggishly getting out of bed we go back to when they were teens. Throughout the story the author will occasionally show them in the future as adults. For example Mo lives with his mom right now but in one of the special chapters he’s living in a tiny apartment alone.
There’s so many chapters so it’s easy to forget but if you go back you’ll see it. Another clue is Jian Yi says to Zhan he wants to go to the same Hs as him. Zhan says Jian Yi disappears in HS. ???? So he doesn’t get his wish. But they reunite in college.
The easiest clue tho is to see if Zhan and Mo live with their moms. If they do we are still in their teen era. When they’re alone it’s the adult chapters.
That’s assuming the author didn’t change the beginning and is gonna disregard those early chapters.
Oh yeah that makes sense
