Rape, pedophilia, racism, and slavery are all bad and REAL scenarios. You can't say one is real while the other is "just fiction" simply because you have a rape fetish. These topics can be depicted with nuance in a mature way, but romanticizing such heavy subjects isn't alright, even if they're fictional.
If you hate one but enjoy the other, then you're a hypocrite.
I'm glad the artist was mature enough to cancel this after the deserved backlash it received, but this also made me realise just how normalized rape has become in fiction. I know we're probably never going to see the day Korean authors stop producing rapeslops because the audience has become so desensitized to it, and there are far too many rape fetishizers. And the worst fact is some of these authors don't even realise that it's rape they think it's toxic love and dark romance.
