Tbh I wanted it to be more dramatic- like the focus was more on her and what she was doing during the year - as for him as I said he dropped the good guy act and became distant with his mother cause he was tired of her and she’s part of the reason why Irene left because the queen believed Leticia’s nonsense about being her son’s lover while Irene is the kind of doctor that uses her body with her patients - anyway he keeps searching for months then he returns to his estate in the capital to restock then ventures out again- Maxy also discharged from the military and was searching for her for a whole year

As for her she meets a mother and son and she rents a small house with a field- she starts throwing up surprise surprise she’s pregnant- the son offers to pretend to be her husband and father of the child to protect her from the villagers cause a single mother isn’t something good in that place - that’s the main reason the duke couldn’t find her because the criteria for searching was unknown doctor while Irene was supposed to be someone’s wife and she never done anything related to medicine- the mother & son were good family to her and they helped her raise her son - so that’s how she spent time - and the Diego became lifeless during that year he hit rockbottom and he was gripped with fear that Irene’s dead because her father found her first
