Unwanted rant from me--
Rereading this and getting up to the scene with his dad and the fight his friend, aah it's described so well, dealing with abusive parents who used very similar techniques (plus physical violence and threats) i ended up dropping out of primary school, then 4 years later i entered highshool late and ended up dropping out of that too because I couldn't handle it with everything going on at home ꒰ᐢ. .ᐢ꒱ not having a family to rely on and pushing away anybody who tried to show me that they cared, developed a severe ed and had a bunch of unhealthy coping mechanisms, but as I dog older my dog got older too, her life was always on the line, they'd try to hurt her to get at me, because threatening me and harming me, strangling me didn't mean anything to me anymore, it was no longer a way to control me so they targeted her. Anyways, I got a job, it took alot of time but I moved out with my dog and although I'm nearly getting by, I'm 21years old and my dog is now 18 years old ໒꒰՞ . .՞꒱ა she sleeps on my arms every night and she no longer shakes at any and all loud noises, I spoil her lots and she regular goes to the vet, I love getting home from work to see her, even if she's old and blind now, I have no doubt that she still recognises me <3 she's not a person and I never finished getting a educational degree in anything, but my life in now stress-free and I enjoy each passing day alot. I never thought I'd be in a position where I could cut contact with my parental figure and move out, yet I managed to do it while keeping my dog safe, and life's been better than I ever knew it could be since :) anyone reading this in a similar situation, please hang in there, I promise you have it and still be alert to live your own lives too in the future xx
