i know joo-an isn't at fault at all (he's just so fucking oblivious T—T but he's still such a good person) but i really want him to grovel SO BAD and seeing that part in chapter 90 where he cries for seojoon just fueled that desire even more lol it was so satisfying to see. like for someone as self-absorbed as joo-an to cry for another person—for seojoon!! because he doesn't want him to hurt himself anymore and would rather have seojoon hate him than hate himself since seojoon being in pain hurts him more (is this a fucking tongue twister ), i think is such a huge thing. i freaking loved seeing that side of him god I NEED MORE SUFFERING. /hj

also, wasn't it said that joo-an always gets (or have to get) everything he wants when he wants it? (that line from seojoon really stuck with me) but then the one time he wanted something more than anything, which was for seojoon to stop hurting himself, he couldn't make it happen.

like, the only thing he wanted so desperately was to take away seojoon's pain and insecurity (BECAUSE HE COULDN'T BEAR IT OF ALL THINGS) but realizing he couldn't do that, no matter how badly he wanted to, just broke him to the point of crying. #hellyeah

OHMYGOSH I JUST FINISHED READING ITTT, NOW WHEN IS THE NEW RELEASEEEEEEE

For a few chapters I was very worried. I felt it was stuck in a annoying dynamic, where Haneul would cry a lot and try to make this up, just to be shot down by Mincheol because her attempts weren't strong enough to break through his fear and strict thinking. But now I have to admit I do understand Mincheol and I'm loving this story all over again.

Sometimes our negative thoughts are so intense that we rater not take action than taking it and ending up being worse. Them being friends for 20 years is his comfort zone. Steping out of our comfort zone is really hard, speciallly if it means changing something you've known your entire life (like in his case).
What he needs to learn is that not taking action is also a decision with consequences, even tho it's a more passive decision. Doing nothing just gives the false impression that you're avoiding make a decision, but you arent.

Now he is in a corner. He can't just stay passive in his comfort zone because their feelings and the nature of their relationship already changed. His comfort zone of just being platonic friends doesn't even exist anymore.

Also Mincheol is paralyzed by fear. Fear is a feeling that can be helpful, but if it makes you feel so bad that you never do anything then it's a problem. His fear got so out of control that he rater make haneul sad as hell than simply TALK.

But Haneul, a absolute baddie, won't let him stay silent anymore. He can't run away. He either finally take action, open his fucking mouth ffs and accept the challenge of a romantic relationship. Or he accepts that now Haneul will put very clear limits in their friendship because the former blurry lines are not acceptable to her anymore.

I loved how Haneul confronted Mincheol. She was always the more active one for sure. But she'd also let Mincheol get away with his avoidant behavior everytime. Everytime she would go with the flow and even have sex instead of insisting more for him to talk. I mean, don't get me wrong, having to insist multiple times for someone to have a decent conversation it's awful. But I'm glad she finally saw through his bullshit and understood that a soft approach wouldn't work. Seeing her finally saying everything she thinks and feels in a raw clear as day way was really satisfying.
