i hate when writers try to spin everything off with bad backstory that falls flat with the whole tone of the story like it was obvious they were setting the lead to look that he had obvious problems, like yandere level crazy, but they just scraped it off and made a half assed development arc this would've been good if it was a proper dark story it does make sense for him to be twisted as result of abuse but the writing of how his thought process flows is so different from how it normally should be. its like theyre making everything more digestible and palatable for a wider range of readers than to just stick to what they were trying to hint and offer
not really. what i meant is that the lead's consistent actions from what we've seen up to his backstory and his development right after doesn't really align. his motivation is weak, both the fuel of his misdeeds and the root of his affection is weak.
his childhood barely scratches the surface of his anger towards his sister and his 'twistedness'.
do you just accept that he heard the uke save his ass once and he's suddenly okay and developed feelings for him? for someone abused and orphaned and thereafter was outcasted by his family, the behavior he exhibits shouldn't just be "hes codependent and has attachment issues" bcs its weak, they didnt really build it up from the start it just looks like lazy writing bcs you can't even comprehend the depth of his pain and therefore his actions
true true, i was expecting more too... everything felt so superficial, even the way he worked on his issues felt a bit unrealistic. I've been chalking up his motivation for liking taeyoon as simply an 'irrational longing' stemming from his past (i suppose?) but even then that doesn't seem intentional by the author. i really do like his character, it's a bit dissapointing the foundations of it is so weak

i wish them only happiness as a family
