jakpil likes to add small details that are hard to catch at first glance. i really liked how after dohun comes out of the restroom, he looks to the bench where his mother used to sit. though it's not explicitly stated that his mother abandoning dohun affects him greatly, it's quite obvious. he searches for what his mother failed to give him in yuwon, which will become more apparent in the future. something else i noticed is that after days at the playground, dohun looks noticeably thinner from a 3/4 angle. which like duh! but for whatever reason, i failed to notice that at first. so sorry if i pointed out stuff that was super obvious, the detail about the bench has just been on my mind for a good minute hehe (◔ω◔)
to everyone who is freaked out, dohun did not get raped. at least, that is not implied whatsoever in future chapters i have already read. if he did, i think jakpil, being the incredible artist and storyteller she is, would have made the scene much more nuanced. there is more PHYSICAL child abuse in upcoming chapters, but there hasn't been any sexual so far.
dohun is my favorite character in literature EVER oki!! when i wake up, i think of dohun. when i shower, i think of dohun. when i do my hair, i think of dohun. when i walk through the halls of school, i think of dohun. when i ride the bus, i think of dohun. when i go to sleep, i dream of dohun. i breathe gu dohun.
i will forever remember reading the raws of these chapters for the first time. i've said it a million times, but unchanged man will forever have a special place in my heart. this is off topic, but has anyone else notice dohun repeating what yuwon says? like in this chapter, he says "me too" after yuwon says "me too". he's done that a couple of times before, too. does anyone have an idea of why he does that? i'm really interested in his character
