I find it genuinely interesting how many people previous chapter were saying he should abort the baby and/or raging about him being pregnant— because well… this is an omegaverse. The point (typically) is so authors can include mpreg? Was it tropey? Yes… Kind of early? Also yes. But, it’s still one of the main points of the story? XD Don’t read an omegaverse if you don’t want to read an ill-timed tropey pregnancy
I feel like the comment section of this story is too serious… As people usually tell me on stories with heavy non-con and unnecessary SA; either don’t read it if you don’t like it, or turn your brain off and read. It’s just fiction.
Some people might have a problem with the mpreg itself but a lot of us, including me, take issues with the way it handled. I love mpreg, don't get me wrong, but using pro life agenda voiced by a medical professional who even got the abortion explanation wrong to get the plot moving. It might be fictional story, but the logic behind it should be acceptable to the readers – that's one of story writing principles, and not only that, some aspects of the fictional story can reflect what's happening in our world, like that pro life agenda and how some countries still intervening for personal medical procedure, for example. It might be fiction, but people can still analyze and criticize every aspect of the story. It's also part of how readers enjoy stories, after all. You might not want to do that, but you can't tell people not to.

And that’s fair… I just find the hypocrisy ironic I guess? Not from you specifically, I appreciate your response because you explained why it upsets you in a really polite way— you’re awesome bro
But at the end of the day it is still women primarily writing these stories, and most authors write what they know a lot of times. Rather than jump on the “this is pro life rhetoric and disgusting” shouldn’t one consider that this is the author’s experience with this subject, and therefore a bit of grace be extended? You may not agree with it, but the majority of the world does not give a fuck about women’s rights. Art imitates life, and we don’t know yet. The author may spin this in a way that’s not hella ridiculous.
The internet has made the world such an exhausting place to live anymore. We’re all so angry, and think that everyone should care when we are

I agree that we may approach this topic carefully and considerately. As we all know that SK has a deep patriarchal society, and that's where the author lives, so of course that experience is going to bleed into the story. Like you said, this could be the author's first hand experience or they could have heard it from someone else, though I found that the information about the abortion come from lack of research. And this, I know, because I also did consult someone from the OB. But that's beside the point. And yes the world does not give a fuck about women's rights, and that's what brought such anger. Like the author, a lot of them have faced gender discrimination, oppression, and harassment, and many came to read this not expecting to face something that hit too close to home. And that's why the reactions are strong. The author may not intending it like that, but the fact that it contains pro life agenda is not something that can be denied. In fact, a lot of omegaverse has that undertone, but the way this story brought a full on doctor to enforce that made it more blatant. And the more obvious things like that shown, the stronger the reaction. It's not hypocrisy, and they're valid for feeling upset. So I think, it's not only the author who should receive a bit of grace and understanding. Besides, it's not like they demanded the author to change the plot outright, it's just criticisms.

I do think it’s hypocritical to get so angry about one instance of real life affects and the system failing individuals when it’s romanticized or portrayed in harmful/incorrect ways, but then brushed off as “just fiction” in other instances. Why get upset about one but not the other? That’s where I’m coming from on the matter… Rape is a very serious topic that also is misrepresented and not taken seriously for many victims.
So even if I may also disagree with the direction this story has taken, I struggle to find sympathy for the people rioting in the comments here. Especially when I’ve been insulted, told to fuck off, stop reading BL, and many many other things for trying to address the overuse of SA in many trending BL stories these days.

To be honest, I've seen more people calling out how bl authors handle SA and the treatments of the victims rather than the ones defending them, that's why I don't find the burst of anger in the comments hypocritical at all. It's just that you said to extend a bit of grace to the author because of their experience that relates to the topic, then shouldn't it be the same case with everyone who feel upset here? Though I respect your feelings on the subject, I still feel it's something to think about. And besides, I don't think it's good to generalize people; the commenters who expressed their anger aren't consisted only of the people who've insulted you, are they? Some of them, if not most, might also have the same stance as you regarding that. On another note, I'm so sorry to hear that you've had bad experience with people here, and if my words offend you, I apologize as well.

Nah you’ve been a great conversationalist, I wish more people were as chill and open minded as you. Thanks for chatting with me instead of just downvoting me to oblivion because you disagreed with me.
I guess where I’m getting hung up on this isn’t necessarily at the commenters here, but rather the lack of similar response to their outrage? When you call out SA you get told it’s fiction and not real, so don’t let it bother you. But here everyone is calling out this, and instead of being told something similar that it’s not real, doesn’t reflect real life, etc. it feels like people are dogpiling the author (which is why I suggested showing grace…). Oh well.
I swear, that declaration of “TAKE ME TO BED ALREADY” was so gentle and romantic I was holding my phone with a vice-like grip as I read this chapter T-T holyyyyy, can it be next week already??
