Started reading this when I was 10 on mangafox, found it again here completed at 22,
It's interesting to see what changes they make from the novel, I read because I got curious after the initial upload. For example,
I don't remember that ruby ring being brought up at the princess's gathering. I don't remember the purifier having a female partner. And the idea for the MC to host make her own faction was originally proposed by her new friends, to which she then asked if Michael could agree as a favour to her, and he did on a certain condition (I think it was spending more time together?)
Whoa the comic was nice but I guess it got axed? Or had a severe chapter limit. They wrapped up the big conflict all in ch 29-30, with all the fallout just being summarized. Boo.
I was really enjoying it too, it was sweet...
Yeah it would've been nice to have a separate chapter of them finding the book before hand.
Ahhh ML in ch 3 was so surprisingly hot, I wish I could see more of them!
The first chapter was like 5 chapters bunched into one, yikes, but still I'm excited to see the MC learn and grow and win
I wonder how he ended up with his sister's daughter? And in the original he brought thr daughter to his house but neglected her for years until she died miserable... never forget

So, answer to first question:
His sister run away from her 'husband' and came to find Valer right before she died. She asked Valer to raise her daughter and to make sure she is happy. She didn't want her piece of shit of a husband to raise her, since she hated him and was disgusted by him (and Aleryn wasn't his lol). She wanted to give her to someone who will genuinely love her and care for her, it was Valer who loved his sister as a sister and a mother.
And first Valer did raise her from infancy, but then Aleryn died, I think, as a toddler. She didn't even get to grow much.
The second time he found a way, he left for a bit, she was still alive. He returned and she was dead again.
So he figured that if he stays away Arelyn will live. So he did, and she indeed lived longer. But then she suddenly got much worse and Mehen asked Valer to come back and see her. Him thinking that she will live longer if he won't appear, delayed his return and decided to try finding a solution by find the divine being who was providing blood for Arelyn's medicine. In the end he returned and she was gone.
This time he intended to stay away as well, but as Mehen told him he would regret it, he decided to go back and see Arelyn, even though he knew she will die soon after.
Thats why he told her that 'he will kill her' in one of the chapters, because he believes that he's the reason that she can't live long.

I hate that the Erin guy was forgiven, I'm chosing to imagine an alternate case where he was dismissed from his position. Otherwise, great.

He resigned himself due to feelings of guilt, so not officially dismissed from duty.
It feels like no one ever properly explained things to Lulu about her grandfather. Like iirc they said, "no actually we were the ones supporting you not the evil father", and "ask ur dad for lore details" but like,
idk it feels like a loose end? Did we clear up that our MC didn't "suck away his life force" or whatever Lulu was claiming?
Even with this ch 26 3 second talk, it's so loose.
Years and years without a proper apology for wrongfully trying to kill our mc too.
