The backstory lwk doesnt make sense to me. His family supposed to be not accepting but they seemed pretty regular cuz they “love” him but they’re supposed to have kicked him out and the dads supposed to hate him but randomly feels bad about it. And those two were the black sheep’s cuz of how they looked but their the spitting image of their dad? Like hello? I thought they would be the outcast cuz they were both gay or something but because they don’t look like their mum enough? Bruh
I lwk like Amon tbh. I don’t think he’s a horrible person/being (I mean in a fictional setting, don’t come to my doorstep) I just think he lacks human emotional empathy and the only humans close to him are those priests who give him a false understanding on human emotions and life and what’s normal. He genuinely thinks this stuff is normal. I also think the priests have manipulated his image and stuff to do all these rituals which he himself never asked for but it’s not like he cares that much. Because in reality Shah Amon doesn’t care about this whole world built around him but he just rolls with it, possibly for Shah Nain. The higher ups have also enstilled this fear in Nain of Amon, which I mean he is scary but he is actually lenient towards his requests.
The comments who say Shah Amon isn’t at least trying are wrong in my opinion, because although he’s really lacking in understanding humans, he is trying to ask questions and is willing to ensure Nains happiness over anything else, and I feel like if Nain was more honest with him it’d go more positively. It’s communication issues for both sides.
Also another thing about the killing, I’m guessing it’s something about the past lives or whatnot. I’m guessing Nain was a human and his kindness and selflessness to other living beings was what led to his death which is why Shah Amon is trying to desensitise him.

No words, lwk pissed the bottom is showing concern for him, I hate this whole story but I guess that’s why I’m reading it. The top is really and truly insane to the definition of the word
