Wdym decent bdsm content? It’s fiction for a reason. Who takes dating advice from a fictional novel? Let alone a fictional bl manwha at best. I don’t know what people expected but if you read manwha’s for a long time, at some point you just reach to the point it is what it is, and enjoy the ride the author worked hard on.

When did I mention taking advice? I'm just saying of someone wants to read X thing, whatever that may be, they'd want to read good quality of it at least sometimes. I've been reading manhwa for a decade. I've read all sorts of things. But just bc something has smut shouldn't automatically mean it's brainless. You learn to expect it, doesn't mean you're not allowed to be disappointed.

Never said it was brainless. If you wanted good content of bdsm, you can read a non-fiction book all about it with real people who engage in bdsm. That is high quality content. I expect fiction to be a made up depiction of real life, not accurate details because once again it is fiction.

Fiction can and should have healthy portrayals sometimes. I feel like that's not a wild take. Sure, it can be a good space to enjoy things that are considered toxic or immoral since no real people are harmed, but it can and indeed does have healthy portrayals of things sometimes, including bdsm. It's not crazy to want some healthy made-up stories. Fiction *can* be a positive made-up depiction of real life too, it doesn't always have to go the negative way. My complaint was not that it's unrealistic, but that it was another negative unrealistic story.

This feels like a pretty realistic portrayal to me. There’s vanilla BDSM, and there’s darker BDSM fiction, and not every BDSM manhwa has to be soft or idealized. This one feels somewhere in the middle to me.

Some sadistic people — whether naturally inclined or experienced — will instinctively try to dominate, especially in intense situations. In this story, they were already too deep into the act by the time the safeword happened. The fictional Dom also claims not to fully understand the implications or etiquette yet, and he’s portrayed as a beginner throughout the story, even shown reading BDSM guides.

From what I’ve seen in real life, some naturally sadistic or rough people do struggle with restraint at first. Stopping immediately, reading reactions properly, and respecting limits are things that often have to be learned, taught, and practiced over time. That seems to be the kind of dynamic this fictional portrayal is going for.

And yes, there are respectful, disciplined, ideal “vanilla” Doms out there too, but self-restraint and attentiveness are learned behaviors and part of maintaining a healthy dynamic. Experienced Doms understand that control also means knowing when to stop. And to this point, this is not fiction about a experienced Dom
