for it to be the authors first ever work? she deserves ‘all’ the praise and attention she’s been getting

gonna also say introducing my manager because man it’s complicated (especially if you never read the original novel) with another heavy slow burn and.. well.. the ml is kinda a high key punchable prick at first (personality wise) and may cause you to drop it early on

one more recommendation is devil man, yeah devil man as a whole is ‘really’ dark (I’m genuinely warning you) and in every adaptation (og manga included) the ending is infamous for a very specific reason

yes it’s technically a bl since ryo is always confirmed god knows how many times in every adaptation to be in canonical love with akira

you have the original manga, the 80’s series (superior) and the netflix adaptation that I didn’t like at all for variety of reasons such as akira getting a complete redesign that looks nothing like his original self lmao
