Recently I've bought some Korean skincare like toner that arencia Vitamin C eye cream and a moisturizer but it looks like my chin area has gotten sensitive what do I do?!! ( ̄ε(# ̄)Σ

    HoneyBee June 16, 2026 6:19 am

i would be careful using a lot of new skincare at once. It can really mess with your skin. I would slowly try and introduce new products so you can get a feel for what works for you and what doesnt

    mewmeo June 16, 2026 6:22 am

I think you should stop using it and go back to whatever normal routine you’ve been using there’s other reviews that mention of how the eye cream has been causing irritation/gave bad reaction also for some people specifically

I had experiences also with my chin when I tried some product that was popular and it gave a bad reaction to it too (T . T)

Either that or the moisturizer or both

u should rlly be careful with vit c if you’re new to it, id suggest letting your skin get used to it first like use it once a week and then increase the frequency slowly and after using vit c, sunscreen is a must. Also check all ur ingredients. Some products shouldn’t be used together like vitamin c and acids like AHA/BHA

    skyiee June 16, 2026 7:20 am

check what derivative of vitamin c it is. most derivatives oxidise easily. one sign of oxidation in most vitamin Cs is discolouration (yellowing). throw it out if it does.

another angle is that u already have a damaged skin barrier. if u do have it, hold off using any actives till ur barrier heals. just stick to the basics: gentle cleanser, hyaluronic acid (humectant), then a good ceramide moisturiser. u can also use occlusives like La Roche Posay's cicaplast b5 baume or plain ol vaseline if u are not prone to millia. skip occlusive when ur barrier is not particularly damaged.

it can also be u bought a fake or ur allergic to one of the ingredients.

since there's some irritation, anything w cicaplast without actives will calm the irritation down.

The thing is I never had a proper skincare and had fungal acne on my forehead but it started getting a lot better after I started using diaper cream so I thought I should buy skincare and bought a lot like a glutathione serum vit C and moisturizer and sunscreen and a toner too but it feels too much and my skin glows and stuff but U can see my fungal acne irritated

The thing is my skin is kinda idk like if I scratch my arm it will flare up you know what I mean like let's say I scratch a big line with my nail on my cheeks that line will flare up and look like a scar and it like gets better after 10 minutes and so so I feel irritation on my chin so I scarth it and it heats up and stuff and I try not to touch it though

And I have the purito calming gel for the irritation but it needs to be applied over and over. I wanna know like how can I incorporate the skincare I bought in my routine so that it doesn't irritate me idk about the products but I think it's due to sudden application of skincare with active like vit c and stuff. Can you tell me how can i introduce it slowly

oh so thats why. since your skin is just normally sensitive, using vitamin c when you're already using glutathione is like dousing a wound w bleach after you've used alcohol on the already damaged tissue, delaying the healing.

if you've got sensitive skin, you cant go ham on the actives. glutathione by itself is pretty drying and potent, hence, you shouldnt be using it everyday, ESPECIALLY with other actives with your skin. the key is to go very slow. wait for your skin to acclimate with each active. try going once a week with a single active. when theres no purging whatsoever, increase the frequency to twice a week and so on.

if you want to know if a product is safe, copy the ingredients and paste into sezia.co
it'll tell u which ingredients are not malessezia safe.

    here's a 2024 list of fungal-acne safe products: https://simpleskincarescience.com/fungal-acne-products-malassezia-pityrosporum-folliculitis/

now, you might be wondering, okay what actives should i use then first?

you shouldnt be using one with your current skin's condition.

we can breakdown ur problems into 3:

    1. damaged skin barrier due to using several products too strong for your skin, and using several of them

    2. fungal acne

    3. ig your specific skin issues that made u start building a skincare routine (e.g., brightening dark circles, premature signs og ageing, etc)

now we should treat our skin like soil.

when the soil is dry and cracked, no amount of using fertiliser and pesticides (ex. aha/bha, vit c, niacinamide, any actives) can magically rehydrate it and make it a fertile soil

so it is imperative that we treat your skin barrier first. strip your skincare regimen to bare bones.

gentle soap free cleanser (vanicream cleanser)
cleansing oil (kose softymo cleansing oil)
toner (hada labo hyaluronic acid toner premium lotion) to bring hydration to ur skin
    moisturiser (hada labo perfect gel)
occlusive at night (cicaplast baume b5 or vaseline). you might want to hold off diaper rash creams as most have an active ingredient zinc oxide.
sunscreen (esp this bc a compromised barrier by glutathione makes it photosensitive)

all the products are fungal acne safe. you dont need to buy them ofc. plug-in first all the ingredients of your current products into sezia. you can use incidecoder to find the ingredients.

stick with this very simple routine till you dont see any signs of compromised barrier. you can look more into them on yt

depending on how much your skin can tolerate, you can introduce exfoliants bha/aha. try using once or twice a week focusing more on ur t-zones. please use only one product for exfoliants. i like salicylic acid from isntree. cosrx blackhead is nice too but idk if they refomulated it.

after this tackling #1 problem, you can now address your fungal acne. fungal acne is pretty stubborn so u have to patience here. you can try SLOWWWWWWLY introducing one active but make sure they are fungal acne safe so as not to go back to square one

when you think you've got ur fungal acne calm enough, start with a fungal acne safe vitamin c. it doesnt need to be supeeer safe. since by now you have a healthy skin soil to work with, you mess a bit more with products that are not that safe with fungal acne. sezia can help u with that bc it grades how irritating an ingredient for ppl w FA

try not to use two actives in the same sitting. like using vitamin c serum with a niacinamide serum. the arencia vit eye cream is pretty hardcore bc it's got three actives. if ur eye area can tolerate it, go ahead space out ur usage of it. the eye area is delicate so give it day(s) to rest from the product

introduce new products one by one so you dont have to do a guessing game who's the culprit.

    good luckkkk

Ok so I'll first try to hydrate my skin slowly and introduce actives. I'm thinking of using the manyo cleanser (but I'm worried it might be harsh so maybe I'll buy Neutrogena hyaluronic cleanser) a ceramide toner and and the celimax miiterizee and maybe that skin1004 centella serum
