Short and sweet. The part where the actor colleague also fell for the mc was kinda unnecessary but I guess it was for the suspense?? Also kinda confusing when mc told that the dad was adorable, im not sure if thats normal? Icl i initially thought the seme was plotting something suspicious on the first few chapters bc of the ambience but the reason was actually adorable He just thought that the mc actually needs his help and the mc always said that he was satisfied LMAO
Okay I remember reading this long ago but also dropping bc of spoilers. Here's my very 1st personal review since I can't stand the previous statements on this manhwa. Pardon me if I can't deliver it best bc i REALLY dont do reviews.
This started off really generic that I only thought of it as a light read. Yk those usual villainess trope that for the LOVING SAKE everything had to go the fl's way, including the antagonizing of the prev fl. It was exactly that. I also remember some false spoilers abt how the beast boy was gonna be the ml thats why this story got flamed on sm. Regardless of how it didn't exactly come true, It was pretty wierd to see the built up tension between the fl since it was already portrayed visibly that their relationship was bound to be of a guardian and child. I actually like who the ml turned out to be instead of relying on looks, the victor this time was LEGITIMATELY the person who's always been by the fl's side.
Some characters are kinda tragic considering how it seems like they were all just deprived of love. I feel like they could've reached enlightenment instead of being cast out of the story and being treated like pure villains instead. Ig this story is kinda old thats why its not really suited for all generations, there are a lot of plot holes as to like why reilynn (so sorry if i got the name wrong) from the orig story begged for the crown prince's love when that wasn't even her goal in the first place, and ofc a lot more.
Later on, they started building some plot twists that I think could've been executed better but it wasn't entirely bad. I personally like how the ending didn't leave the other supporting characters forever set on the mc and actually live their own dreams. They didn't leave the personality they were first introduced as. Instead, they found their purpose (especially, love the beast guy's) and chased it using the example of the fl as a motivation. Didn't really expect to get attached to this but the dynamic between the fl and ml is so cute. They always set a goal to reach instead of lovey dovey all the time.
OVER ALL, its a super light read with found family and a somewhat realistic fl who eventually reaches realization that she's js taking everything for granted and actually drives a change. The father is SO loving and devoted but also has priorities that doesn't tolerate regarding the future of the household heir and the empire (actually fitting for a businessman). It's easy to understand and is NOT too cheesy despite having cliches. It's actually kinda cute.
