Of course they will, bl authors love to write stories where the only character who suffers is the bottom

They are survivors, Yuwon copes with the negative situations by fawning, and Dohun changes the situations through violence/controlling tactics. No one ever taught either of them a better way to handle things, so they continue to use these unhealthy methods they developed/learned in their youth. I don’t excuse Dohun’s violence or controlling tactics, especially when it regards Yuwon, but it’s really the only way he ever learned to change his situation. Yuwon can’t help but make himself the martyr, even when he dislikes himself for it, and so Dohun can’t help but use violence to protect Yuwon in Dohun’s own way. And, there is definitely love there, even though it isn’t expressed in a healthy manner. Dohun lives for Yuwon, all of his decisions and actions are for what he believes is best for Yuwon and his happiness. Yuwon can’t accept Dohun’s love because it’s overbearing and unexplained in Yuwon’s eyes, but it’s the only way Dohun knows how to express it, through heavy emotions/actions. There’s so much untreated mental instability for each of them. They are both navigating things the only way they know how.

I agree with the statement that they are navigating things how they know how but I have a different idea of what that looks like. I can’t rid this feeling that Dohun doesn’t know what love actually is and sense he doesn’t know what happiness entails to fulfill his wish of making him happy and Yuwon doesn’t actually love Dohun he’s actually actively fawning by staying with him.

Even Compton knows that if an apology will ease a very difficult situation, it’s best just to say sorry (however un-heartfelt). The fact that Heejae can’t fully see/is choosing to ignore how much Garam is hurting, it just shows that at the end of the day all Heejae can fully value is himself. Garam is such an easy person to love, and he loves others so freely and tenderly. To lose that love and companionship over one’s hubris would be such a terrible loss.

I wish more had been covered in season 1. I know that’s difficult to do, but if I hadn’t read part of the novel I’m not sure I would know what’s going on/ the inner perspectives of the characters. The art is still beautiful, but haebum is so horrible that it’s difficult to get through this at all. I hope season two gets more into the prince and ryujin’s encounters, even though I don’t like the prince either at the end of the day. Just want even a crumb of justice for ryujin to be depicted, it’s all that’s keeping me reading besides the art.

Hopefully there will be some gentle interactions, but I wonder if they are going to show the part where the prince hurts ryujin’s hand. I’m really not prepared for it.

Tbh I kinda hated author writing its like as if shin didn't drop ryujin on floor here and there fuck him endlessly and Ryujin didn't even broke a single bone with him but when it comes to prince she did like ryujin is injured and all .... Yet I hope it becomes lighter from novel

It’s so hard when we let someone we love change us to suit their whims. Especially when that person doesn’t care for us in the same way. Jay deserves someone who will be good to him, he’s a kind man at heart. Back when Jay tried to cover for the ML (when the ML’s dad came snooping at his place), I knew he was a good guy. I’m not sure if he will end up with the cute rich girl who smokes, but if so, I hope they’re kind to each other. I hope we do get to see him with a woman who will treat him gently. He deserves that.❀

Can any novel readers give me spoilers on how this turns out/if this was good? I remember reading a bit of this last year, I’m wondering if I should reread and pick it back up. Is it very heart-wrenching? Do they end up staying together happily?

It’s a heart-wrenching journey, but they do end up together with a happy ending. They take the long way around to get there, but I think it’s worth it to read through to the end. It was one of the most moving stories I’ve read in a while even with all of the angst.

Garam really cares about everyone he has a connection to. His first move when he found out was to call Compton, probably to see how he was holding up. Clearly, Heejae is only interested in what happened to that soloist because he could use it as a way to hinder Compton’s success, since he didn’t like the way Compton yelled at Garam (even though Heejae is the reason Compton yelled at Garam). Heejae only cares about Garam being yelled at because it was someone other than Heejae doing the yelling/mistreatment. Even though we as readers can see the hypocrisy, Heejae surely can’t. “When I use harsh methods I’m cutting gems” but if someone yells at the person he cares about, now it’s abuse. I’m glad Garam is calling him out on it. Garam already said he made peace with what happened between himself and Compton, and that should have been enough reason for Heejae not to stir up trouble like this. I’m not excusing Compton’s actions either, his mistreatment of his orchestra members isn’t right. But, it certainly wasn’t Heejae’s place to say anything about it. The professor made Compton that way.

Garam is so accepting of others, it’s no wonder so many people fall for him/are drawn to him. To be seen completely, with all your flaws, and still accepted with welcoming arms. What more could someone wish for?

Also, Walter looking handSOME in that concert poster☆

When Compton makes those negative comments about previous students of Heejae’s, I’m sure it was off-putting to Garam. It was certainly off-putting to me. Calling Krueger a coward because he has trauma from his time as heejae’s student, is very judgmental and cruel. Also hypocritical, seeing as Compton doesn’t even play the piano anymore because of how heejae affected him. At least Krueger is trying to better himself and his piano playing. Even if Compton was just trying to show Garam that he considers Garam special and apart from the other students, to tear other people down while giving someone a compliment is gross. I’m sure Garam didn’t like it, especially since he values his friendship with Kruger. And it reaffirms that Compton really doesn’t know Garam at all, despite music being shared.
