Y'all prior to ch19 i was kinda on the fence about ml because he could be kinda yandere in the cringe kind of way, but at the end of ch19 when she read him like that, I was absolutely shook. Omg, the character development plot hook?! Honest communication?! Their dynamic instantly became 5000 times more interesting for me. I am now absolutely sat.
This is literally one of my top favs now, maybe even in my top 5. I love the humor, it's subtle and offbeat but not too absurd, and I like how it snowballs with running gags. Like the first time a joke hits its just a 'heh' but by the third time it's a 'lol.' The timing for the funny moments are always incredible, I love how it's always a suckerpunch, lol. I also love the family elements, every single member of the imperial family is such a warm and vibrant character. I love the ML's secretary form, it gives him such good chemistry with Mc, and makes for a lot of really funny moments. I think I'm gonna go read the novel version now, I really want to see what happens next.
The second princess probably has charm powers or something that ensnares others hearts, or maybe some form of mind control, hypnotism, brainwashing. Like it seems extremely obvious to me that tarcus's obsession is not natural.
I bet also that either she was the one who put the curse on the older brother that prevents him from returning to the capital or disobeying orders, or her father has the same power.
Unrelated, but i honestly don't get what's the bid deal if tarcus has a childhood love. Like I get our MC is emotionally stunted and naive in some ways about the heart, so it makes sense she'd feel a childish sense of betrayal about it, but like. He never cheated on her, he's not planning on cheating on her in the future, and the so called 'other woman' is a memory he has of a little girl, from when he himself was a child. This drama is so blown out of proportion. I don't mean to be unsympathetic to our mc, i find this conflict to be very in character, i'm just a bit skeptical of the overall message of the story itself. I wish there wasn't such obsession with having virgin male leads who can't even be attracted to other women. It totally misunderstands and distorts the meaning of what actual commitment and fidelity is, which is about choice and integrity, not being literally neutered when it comes to other women or not having experience at all??? Lol im digressing but that's just my two cents.
Side note, I enjoy the depth and complexity of all the characters. Love our mc, especially her contrast to her previous life. The brother was an absolute icon even though he only got two seconds of screentime. I also like the 2nd prince's character. He was born with a kind nature, but got twisted by the world from his exposure to human nature. Honestly, he's very interesting. The king is a complex character, reminds me of the father blacksmith; both of them breaking out of the mold of stereotypical 'good' or 'bad' dads we see in manhwa a lot. The queen is also very cool, like there were a couple moments where she really stood out to me, you can tell she truly loves her son.
I totally agree, the way Aristine react is in character but the way it's talked about by everyone else as unnatural and like you can't truly love multiple people at once is weird. Plus you add to this that Tarkan isn't in love but under a spell and it make all of it even worse.
I wasn't prepared for polyamory hatred, especially since the founder of Iguro had a whole harem ? What a weird choice to introduce a character of legend with multiple lovers and then go on with every character acting like it's abnormal.
No even if he didn't cheat he's still searching for her and like everyone in the whole palace knows who's his first love is so he might've acted like that which gave it away and when Rine talked to him about this he couldn't give her a definite answer like "I love you" Or "I'm just searching for her to thank her for saving me or smth not because I love her" Even saying those things might've helped the fl a lot I'm not saying it's weird to have a first love but dating someone else while remembering your first love is the same as cheating it might not be physical but still
No. Cheating is doing relationship stuff with someone else without your partner consent. Thinking of someone else while it can be rude is not cheating.
There's nothing wrong with wanting or needing a closed relationship, but what you are describing, considering feelings as cheating even tho the person didn't act on it, is just toxic. Feelings aren't controllable, you can control how you react to them but you can't control how you feel and love isn't something you have in finite quantity. Some people can deeply love multiple people, some can't, what's important is to respect how the partner you chose feel and not act on those feelings.
I wanted to like this. FL and ML are beautiful, the kid is cute, the liberator rebel group setting is interesting, and I'm a sucker for a good doctor MC. But it feels like the author took all those great setting details and wrote the wrong genre! This is the most contrived, low-IQ, corny ass rofan ever, there is absolutely no grit or angst to speak of but plotholes around every corner, I don't sympathize with any of these people. Everyone acts goofy like they only have love on their brain.
I don't like all the random touching and hugging especially with the special close ups (Personal!! Space!! Y'all don't know each other, omg), I don't like how white-haired guy's eyebrows change every 5 seconds, I don't like that she was recruited at gun point and it was brushed over as no big deal and she holds no resentment for that, I don't like that despite this being a doctor manga we are hardly seeing any doctor stuff at all (the medical science is whack), I don't like the logical errors (ML says he doesn't like ordering people around like attendants, but lives in a fancy palace, and everyone including MC has fancy clothes like nobles. Those things take constant work and maintenance, people!! Maids and laundresses are full time jobs, and yet we don't see any of them?! I feel like I'm watching people completely out of touch with reality). I don't like that there's focus on other guys besides ML, is this a reverse harem or what?
Look, I enjoy rofan, even comedy slice of lifey stuff, but in this case the setting details actually work against the story. It's one thing in other stories to watch a sheltered lady MC act like an airhead and a bunch of handsome ML's strut around like peacocks, but going into this story I was actually expecting?? Some plot from this setting?? Some logic?? Some stakes and consequences?? This disappointment killed me.
But yeah if you turn your brain off before reading this you might enjoy it, the art is good and everyone's pretty.
I agree with all your points, and I also really I don't like that the close bond betwenn our 1st ML and 2nd ML might be tarnished cuz of our FL?? Plus they are Commander and Vice Commander of an important organization for people's right, why are they so love sick and trusts easily? 6 chapters in they're all blushing and heart racing smh ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
I don't know why so many pol in the comment are expecting a power journey of becoming the ultimate ho. This is very clearly a corruption story presented as a tragedy, with themes of loss of innocence and critiquing sex culture, showing how the people around MC funneled her to this path because of her lack of life experience. So far it reminds me of a less extreme version of MEmergence (Metamorphosis), with a lot of conventional smut sprinkled in. Honestly the fact that the art and smut are clearly made to be normally sexy kinda detracts from the storyline. Like I'm mostly reading this for the smut, the plot is too dark for me to be in the mood in when I want to read smut, and the smut is too porny for me to be in the mood in when I want to read the plot.
I keep seeing comments complaining the pacing is too fast OR that it's taking forever so they're only gonna come back when more chapters are out. No shade to either camp I just think it's a bit silly that people can't even agree what to criticize about. Makes me think it's just a matter of personal taste, because from my perspective the pacing is absolutely fine. Tight on plot, tight on action, with plenty of comedic relief.
Anyways, FL is so hot and badass, I am super in love with her. I'm actually jealous of the ML that he's got such a bombshell. This story is so hilarious and heartwarming!
Got up to ch 4 but can't continue. In the first place, what caused the crash dieting and eating disorders was the competitive anorexia that being part of a competitive dieting program caused. And the solution to that... is another competitive dieting program? I'm sorry, but even with what I assume will be character development and such (and I honestly do really like the characters shown here, at least the toxic mindsets are realistically shown), I don't like how it kinda feels like the manga itself is glorifying extreme competitive dieting. Like it's critiquing it but not enough honestly.
Honestly I think this is done pretty well. The new diet program is more about showing how to maintain health and realistic habits more than just burning as much weight as possible. The trainer explains that they are focusing more on what nutritional meals each participant can afford to make and building a normal exercise routine. On days you dont go to the gym you go for a walk or run instead. Yes its still a competition, but its the healthiest one ive ever seen.
Tw and slight (obvious) spoiler: I will say that there are depictions of EDs and unhealthy coping mechanisms, but it is addressed and the participant is forced to drop out and the trainer offers to help her seek professional help.
But yeah if you still decide you dont like this then thats understandable, but I dont think this is glorification. All characters repeatedly trash on the DD program BECAUSE it was harmful. This is attempting to help undo some of that damage
That's a good point (and thank you for not yelling at me stranger on the internet; I notice and appreciate it). You're right that the author is really trying to present healthier habits and methods, and I did like how complex the characters and their attitudes were. My main gripe was with the fundamental premise of the story itself; I just don't think competitive dieting is mentally healthy, especially for those who have already struggled with eating disorders. Even if they're doing it in a healthy way, it's the competition element that I think is unrealistic. Lol but yeah I probably won't pick this up again, but I liked hearing the spoiler you mentioned, that seems like an interesting direction.
Thats understandable (ofc Im not trying to fight or disrespect you and I appreciate the notice of kindness). Of course competitive dieting is nowhere near healthy, but it is a standard/common practice around the world, and thus I appreciate the practice being shown in a healthier way as opposed to what is typically presented/normalized. But yeah I agree the whole mindset is not healthly, so if this makes you uncomfortable then absolutely drop the story. If you do get curious about what happens but dont want to read through, I'll gladly lyk in the future

Mi-kun is my fav, he's the best shy emo yandere
2nd place for me is the crossdresser lol
What are y'all's top picks? I'm also curious if yandere boss will ever actually turn out to be a yandere lol
