Really good storytelling and beautiful art, classic manhwa style. It's a bit slow paced at times and there's that abused child finds happiness cliche troupe, but it was well done here. The story was divided in two parts, with a four year time-skip, after the main story is over, there're some extras from past and future. The relationships are well developed, and the storylines as well. There's quite a bit of slice of life moments and excessive love and sheltering for the FL. At times, I found it endearing, and sometimes, annoying and exagerated. It's a good read in general, so I recommend it!

it's worth the read, a historical fantasy slow burn that has a feminist subtext
it was a really good story. my first thought reading was that men are really pathetic in this manhwa lol. anyone raised as a woman would relate deeply with what was represented here. i guess it would be nice for guys to read this and reflect about society. even though it's a historical fantasy, it relates to what women actually experience. there are some truly sad moments of injustice but it's not exaggerated drama.
lucian yearning for paul for years it's kind of sad and sometimes, and the miscommunication was frustrating, although his fears were justified. his selflessness was "a man written by a woman" kind of thing and i guess he stays as an example. girls, accepet no less than men that always consider your needs and feelings.
paul is really amazing despite her shortcomings, she is the woman that was never choosen, that always served and still made herself and remained herself. she was willing to love only in her terms. the fact that she never competed against women is just so cool. the women in this manhwa refused to be weaponized and to fight each other.
it's an extremely slow burn and even when confessions happened, there were still setbacks. the pace is a bit slow, it shows a lot of details in daily life, i think it was ok, but it was a bit dragged sometimes. the final scenes didn't make total sense and i thought it would be cool if paul was the one to ask for changes instead of retreating, it somehow felt out of character. i guess narratively it made sense, to create an emotional scene but it was a little frustrating to read. but i was glad there were changes, bc paul was always the exception and it made no sense for the emperor to ignore that when he loved her so much.
i feel grateful for translators that worked in this for years without interruptions. scanlators are amazing.
I can't get over the fact that the ML is an abusive jerk. i hated him from start but i kept reading bc people said the story was good and i thought he would know better and there would be some character development, bc everyone in the comments said the communicated well, they were cute and all. But i skimmed forward and he just raped ML? and ML forgives him and says i love you. I guess the red flags were always there but WHY THE HELL ARE PEOPLE PRAISING THIS SO MUCH? He's an abusive boss and an abusive boyfriend, do you all have no critical sense? all I saw was his nasty personality portrayed comically. i'm actually pissed that i insisted on reading this shit. the attorney lore was actually interesting but there was harassment from the start and this is just normalized abuse. a shame because the art is great and from what i saw the smut seems well done, as long as it's consensual
why going through the quests if they were going to remain apart? it feels like the author doesn't know how to develop the relationship, so they'll just get together for a third time
