Liking Grayson does not mean we support or romanticize every harmful thing he did. That’s the part some people are misunderstanding.
Most Grayson fans are not saying:
“what he did was good.”
We’re saying:
“now we understand why he became like that.”
There’s a difference between excusing someone and understanding them.
After reading DMIYC, many of us stopped seeing Grayson as “a cruel evil man” and started seeing him as someone who was psychologically abnormal from childhood, raised in a damaging environment, and never taught how to process emotions or relationships normally in the first place.
People with severe emotional/psychological disorders exist in real life too. Some genuinely struggle with empathy, attachment, emotional regulation, or understanding social behavior properly. That doesn’t automatically make them monsters beyond understanding. It also doesn’t mean society simply allows harmful behavior. Both things can coexist:
- accountability,
- and empathy.
That’s exactly how many of us view Grayson.
We understand that he was dangerous. We understand Chase was hurt. We understand why some readers may never forgive him — and that’s completely valid.
But we also recognize that Grayson himself was not mentally “normal” like the rest of the family. The novels repeatedly show:
- his abnormal manifestation,
- the therapies,
- the emotional detachment,
- the mimicry-based social learning,
- and how the adults around him already knew something was fundamentally wrong from childhood.
And despite all that, he was still capable of attachment, care, and even saving people. Which is why many readers ended up feeling sympathy toward his true personality once they understood him better.
Understanding how someone became dangerous is not the same thing as glorifying the damage they caused.
Different readers react differently to morally complex characters. Some forgive him, some don’t. Neither side has to be “inhuman” for the other to be right.

They released a revised family tree of kiss me/if you can series. Its mentioned there. So the tree added Isaas and Henry story too. The title will be announced soon

To be very honest, I re read kmyic to re evaluate things based on the new datas I gathered from other novels. I do feel that somewhere Josh's disappearing played an imp part in chase trauma..
Chase knew about Grayson's condition very well, he knew that he has been gone through various treatments and that now he only mimics wht he has learnt and that he lies a lot.
So i was thinking if this big statement is coming from such a person who mostly lies or mimics then I would def give it a second thought before believing it.
Later chase didn't believe his words when Grayson was apologising but believed when he said he has slept with a dog?.
When josh revealed that he slept with him then chase said I knew that i slept with someone. That's when it hit me.
Chase actually didn't believe Grayson first ands Grayson also didn't knw that he has slept eith someone. But chase knew that he has def slept with someone so he was desperately searching for that person. But Josh has gone without a trace and Chase couldn't find him at all that's when he started believing that he may have actually done it with a dog which eventually traumatized him.
When Grayson said chase slept with a dog it was his first rut, Grayson brought the dog and chase remember the dog's smell it makes him collapse.. Grayson really gave Ashley a big headache

Oh no, Ashley waa trying to scare Dane so he would runaway from GRAYSON. And from wht I read no one knws that Grayson never actually did it. Grayson did say it chase to scare him as well. But in Kiss me if you can, Grayson told the truth only to Josh that he never did it and lied to chase about it. That's wht I knw so far.
Scare Dane? Noo, he's explaining because Dane thought Ashley was beating Grayson and I purchased both chase and Grayson novel so it's what I remembered maybe I was wrong I have memory like a gold fish they kept mixed up...
Cs i remember the part when Ashley said that Dane still haven't runaway from Grayson even though i said those things to him. And Ashley did abused Grayson, he agreed that his punishments were harsh. He said he never hit his children but in Ashley's side stories, he actually did. He slapped Grayson very hard and even choked him. Every novel contains so much info with different perspectives, im getting confused
Ikr because chase novel was released in 2018 and Grayson was 2025 that's a huge gap... But Grayson was the only sibiling who cares about chase even tho he's twisted asf..
Ikr I was reading Bliss's story and Grayson and Bliss has such a funny bond. It really surprised me. And Bliss always used to ask only Grayson for help. N there is was clearly mentioned that "has it not been Grayson, chase would have long gone insane". This whole series really needs re evaluation after every novel. Many informations are spread across different Novels from different povs. My mind is blown
Maybe because nathaniel always busy and Grayson kinda unemployed Also he always remind chase to release some pheromones so he doesn't go insane, in side story he went to pick up josh just because chase rut comes unexpectedly..
I love how ppl are here for Dane but majority of Novel readers only cared for Grayson at the end. Its funny (we do like Dane but readers will get it lol)

I read the novel and while I love Grayson, his most endearing trait is crying while Dane makes him suffer. Dane is my absolute fave
That's why i didn't wrote all Novel readers. For me, I just wanted to punch Dane at least once. I do love him but he needed one punch at least
I highly highly recommend to read the novel. I donno of they gonna depict it exactly in the manhwa. So far its pretty much understandable im accordance to the novel but yes they are merging 2-3 different scenes into one.
The Novel won't disappoint, u are gonna het hooked. I completed the novel in one go and re read it thrice. Its just so good.

210 chapters. I pull an all nighter so it took me 2 days and 1 night to complete it. I was really hooked. And the climax was so emotional, that I kept my phone aside fr a while just to cry. I have read lots of emotional manhwas but none of them made me do this. So i don't knw if manhwa will bring out those emotions.

ZIG’s ABO Universe Explanation
The ZIG ABO universe is divided mainly into two interconnected lines:
- the “If You Can” series
- and the “Kiss Me” series.
The “If You Can” series currently has 6 novels, while the “Kiss Me” side also has multiple connected stories and future planned novels. In total, the universe revolves around several powerful dominant alpha families, including:
- the Millers,
- the Pittmans,
- and other elite alpha bloodlines, including a Middle Eastern royal family.
The basic concept of this universe is the idea of “damaged dominant alphas.”
In ZIG’s universe, dominant alpha pheromones can affect brain development and emotional functioning. The earlier a dominant alpha manifests, the more severe the psychological and emotional damage becomes. This is why many dominant alphas in the universe are emotionally unstable, obsessive, detached, or psychologically abnormal. That's the reason they are all called "psychos".
The timing of manifestation is extremely important.
- Keith Pittman, Ashley Miller, and Chase Miller manifested relatively late (around or after puberty), so they retained comparatively normal emotional functioning.
- Ashley later melted his brain due to long-term pheromone extraction through injection treatments(the method that Chase uses).
- Nathaniel manifested around the age of 10, which caused partial damage. He struggled emotionally and appeared detached, but he could still understand and process emotions relatively well.
- Grayson and his twin sister Stacy were BORN DOMINANT alphas, making them among the most severely damaged cases in the universe. Grayson especially developed abnormally because his emotional and social development was affected from birth itself.

“Kiss Me If You Can” mainly acts as the gateway into the “If You Can” universe. It introduces the Miller family conflict and the dangerous side of damaged alphas, but the later novels expand the lore much more deeply.
“Desire Me If You Can” is probably the clearest representation of ZIG’s damaged-alpha concept because Grayson’s character embodies the psychological consequences of the entire system and is the main story of the universe. His story recontextualizes:
- the Miller family,
- pheromone damage,
- the parenting dynamics,
- and many events from KMIYC.
Meanwhile, “Kiss Me, Liar” functions more as the central story of the “Kiss Me” side of the universe. Many connected stories from that side still do not have full novels yet, although Keith’s parents’ generation (“Kiss Me Villains”) is expected to receive a novel first.
One important thing about ZIG’s writing is that most characters are not meant to be viewed as simply “good” or “evil.” The universe is built around how pheromones, trauma, upbringing, and psychological damage distort emotional development and relationships.

So Grayson was so obsessed with the boobs that he used to play a song whose lyrics starts as "Boobs, Boobs, Boobs...." and he used to sing that alot. He played whenever they were commuting together to the station. And Dane was so frustrated by this song.
So there comes a time when Dane was alone and unknowingly started humming "Boobs, Boobs, Boobs...." and he was like "FUck"
