So I came across a post where Zig herself clarified the incest thing that some ppl have been accusing Grayson for. Well it's actually not that difficult to interpret the situation when you have understood Grayson's character but Zig didnt knw that we have readers with low IQ. So was unaware that such misunderstanding has been going around and personally explained the situation. I am copying the exact comment she made here:
-Hello. Since it’s a story I couldn’t even imagine, I took a moment to wonder where such a misunderstanding could have come from. To get straight to the point, there was no incest on Miller Street, and there won’t be any in the future either. To Grayson, Chase is just a “clueless little brother,” a “being that needs looking after.”
-When Chase asked if he would mate with him when Rut came, since there was no one else to release pheromones to but Bliss, and Grayson said, "If there's no other way, then that's what has to be done," that might have LED to such a MISUNDERSTANDING. However, in this context, Grayson’s intention is that he must remove the pheromones in advance to prevent such a situation from happening.
-Excluding Chase, all the other siblings were -- strictly managing their pheromones, so in fact, there was virtually no risk of that happening. If the kids hadn't done it properly, Ashley wouldn't have just sat idly by, right? I hope the misunderstanding gets cleared up.
I have been telling people just by reading the novels that it was Chase whose pheromones were harmful for Bliss and not others and that is wht Grayson was concerned abt.
Not bothering with the comment section anymore. Here to appreciate the hard work of YP and Ondo. They really did a good job. Was disappointed by them in the beginning but they are doing good now. I hope they will be true to the novel in the future as well.
I am stating some incidents which were there in the last 15 chapters of the Novel LMIYC. I am seeing so many peopl keep mixing up orders of incidents.

People keep saying Koi was only separated from the children after the poisoning incident.
But that's not what the novel shows.
Long before Grayson poisoned Koi, Ashley had already started separating Koi from the children because they interrupted the time he wanted to spend alone with him.
When Chase kept wandering through the mansion, knocking on doors and looking for Koi, Ashley wasn't worried about his child.
He was annoyed that Chase is disturbing his quality time koi.
"Damn it, I should have gone outside."
The novel literally says:
"Whenever Ashley tried to spend time alone with Koi, the other children seemed to know exactly what was happening and constantly interfered."
Ashley then thought:
"I need a way."
His solution wasn't to spend more time with his children.
It was to get rid of the "problem."
He came up with an excuse to send Koi away for an audit that lasted six months, keeping him away from the children because he wanted Koi to himself.
This all happened before the poisoning incident.
So the idea that Koi was first separated from the children because of Grayson poisoning him is simply incorrect.
Then, after the poisoning incident, people reduce everything to, "Grayson got locked up because he deserved it."
Again, that's not what happened.
Ashley slapped a little boy repeatedly, cursed at him, and then—
"He even squeezed the boy's neck, intending to suffocate him immediately."
That isn't discipline.
Ashley always used to separate them that Nathaniel noticed. And the very first time Ashley separated Koi from kids was after that Chase knocking the door nd disturbing their time(fwop fwop) time. They keep their children alone with nannies. After 6 months when Koi returned things changed. Then happened the poison incident which gave Ashley full control over the children and Koi and a proper excuse to fully separate them. I know Ash conditions and reasons as well but the methods he has been using were wrong.
The poisoning was undeniably wrong.
But why is it so difficult for some people to acknowledge something the novel itself repeatedly shows?
Ashley failed as a father.
Koi later admits his own regrets and failures as a parent.
Recognizing their failures doesn't erase Grayson's responsibility.
It simply recognizes that a child raised in harsh punishments, emotional neglect, and a completely distorted understanding of love was failed by the very people who were supposed to protect him.
That's not making excuses.
That's acknowledging what the story itself tells us.
They expressed this chapter very well. I loved this chapter and my previous disappointments are gone for now.
Guyss check this out if you are interested in Grayson's character. Those who only know to criticize can humbly stay away as this just for the better understanding of his character. I don't want unnecessary "what he did to chase" here.

It all started with Dominic and Grayson become the one to put an end to it. Despite getting all the toxic urges like Dominic, he proved Ashley that he is not the monster. He proved everyone wrong. The love I have for this man.
Since everyone is talking about venus, I remembered a funny scene from the novel

Liking Grayson does not mean we support or romanticize every harmful thing he did. That’s the part some people are misunderstanding.
Most Grayson fans are not saying:
“what he did was good.”
We’re saying:
“now we understand why he became like that.”
There’s a difference between excusing someone and understanding them.
After reading DMIYC, many of us stopped seeing Grayson as “a cruel evil man” and started seeing him as someone who was psychologically abnormal from childhood, raised in a damaging environment, and never taught how to process emotions or relationships normally in the first place.
People with severe emotional/psychological disorders exist in real life too. Some genuinely struggle with empathy, attachment, emotional regulation, or understanding social behavior properly. That doesn’t automatically make them monsters beyond understanding. It also doesn’t mean society simply allows harmful behavior. Both things can coexist:
- accountability,
- and empathy.
That’s exactly how many of us view Grayson.
We understand that he was dangerous. We understand Chase was hurt. We understand why some readers may never forgive him — and that’s completely valid.
But we also recognize that Grayson himself was not mentally “normal” like the rest of the family. The novels repeatedly show:
- his abnormal manifestation,
- the therapies,
- the emotional detachment,
- the mimicry-based social learning,
- and how the adults around him already knew something was fundamentally wrong from childhood.
And despite all that, he was still capable of attachment, care, and even saving people. Which is why many readers ended up feeling sympathy toward his true personality once they understood him better.
Understanding how someone became dangerous is not the same thing as glorifying the damage they caused.
Different readers react differently to morally complex characters. Some forgive him, some don’t. Neither side has to be “inhuman” for the other to be right.
What's with the competition in uploading the chapters pls stop im getting excited everytime getting the update notification only to see tha same chapter uploaded
You all Dane x Grayson lovers, we won. We are getting new side stories for Dane and Grayson and the children will be introduced there. Its official now. Yayyyyyyyyy.
To be very honest, I re read kmyic to re evaluate things based on the new datas I gathered from other novels. I do feel that somewhere Josh's disappearing played an imp part in chase trauma..
Chase knew about Grayson's condition very well, he knew that he has been gone through various treatments and that now he only mimics wht he has learnt and that he lies a lot.
So i was thinking if this big statement is coming from such a person who mostly lies or mimics then I would def give it a second thought before believing it.
Later chase didn't believe his words when Grayson was apologising but believed when he said he has slept with a dog?.
When josh revealed that he slept with him then chase said I knew that i slept with someone. That's when it hit me.
Chase actually didn't believe Grayson first ands Grayson also didn't knw that he has slept eith someone. But chase knew that he has def slept with someone so he was desperately searching for that person. But Josh has gone without a trace and Chase couldn't find him at all that's when he started believing that he may have actually done it with a dog which eventually traumatized him.
