i wrote a review of this around chapter 27, just picked this back up… still have no idea what’s going on. my biggest gripe at that point was that the art experienced such a severe decline it looked like storyboards rather than a finalized chapter, and honestly the art does a lot of the heavy lifting with this.

sometimes, i’m more than happy to sit back, relax, and just look at the gorgeous art because i’m not following the plot at all. but there’s always an itch in the back of my head, “would i understand this better if i wasn’t american?” like, there’s got to be cultural significance to the symbolism, be it from joseon-era korea or manchuria. i have NO idea where to start researching to get a better understanding of what the fuck is happening, and all i can think is, “whatever the author is smoking, i REALLY want i

abortion is illegal in korea, so when i learned this story would be covering the topic of a taboo abortion, i was really excited to see how it would be handled. yeah… no. i figured it would be a total mistake baby, not a FORCED one. they were told to have sex with only birth control as protection. WTF? it only takes one time, people!! and i’m pissed tf off that the MC let himself get knotted TWICE.

his future is put in jeopardy because of this baby, and i hope he aborts it. sad to see what i thought would be an introspective discussion about health rights in the modern world get turned into an omegaverse cliche and plot device.

honestly, the monster needs to go. he irreparably harmed everyone in the current universe by resetting it for ONE guy. literally ONE guy. he’s a monster with no understanding of how the world works, very similar to “hikaru” from TSHD. he comes off as affectionate and doting, but he’s obsessive and stifling to jarn. the only way for the story to progress is for him to die. sorry, not sorry! i’m not head over heels for the duke or anything, but there’s some feelings there that shouldn’t be ignored. i feel like i’m in the minority by being okay with this ending
