I'm honestly so uncomfortable with the fact that this story is starting her out as a literal child. It would have been much better if she was older, at least 20 or something. But I do however appreciate that he's so respectful and isn't at all attracted to her from what he's explained so far. He's basically got this huge fatherly type of affection for her right now. Which is going to be VERY uncomfortable and weird for the both of them once she's old enough to make her own choices and potentially be romantically involved with him. He's also not grooming her to be involved with him in that way either, he literally just wants her to be safe and happy. So maybe it won't end up like that (having them be together romantically), maybe it'll just stay like they are family(adopted daughter and father)? And unless they somehow figure out how to either make her live as long as he can, this is going to have an extremely traumatic ending. So other than for the pedo vibes from the author, the child abuse from a select few characters and the most likely doomed ending, everything else is immensely wholesome.
Given the fact it's a romance manga, I doubt we'll get a family ending out of this (which sucks), but since so far things have been getting treated respectfully - and Celeste himself has the conscience of how he is her guwrdian, and will step aside if need be - I am actually looking forward to how they will resolve this conflict. Like, I'm sure it's not getting any less awkward or hard to watch (if they becme a couple in the future) but it could be interesting to read if they actually try to addres this as a problem instead of the usual "whatever love is love amirite" bullshit that some problematic mangas pull.
Every opinion is subject to change under the right circumstances, but, so far so good right? So I hope it stays that way

if you think of it in a dragon since though, 300 year old dragon is still a child themselves.
