I gave this a try and honestly, i realised that i need to stop judging manhwas by their cover because this was genuinely so good i went in thinking this was going to be a full on pornhwa but the characters and story are pretty compelling and fun to read abt imo. Ofc, nothing wrong with smut scenes but its quite refreshing to see main characters that actually have some time to bond and grow their relationship through other means then just alot of frequent sex despite well yknow, the circumstances they are placed in + the comedy and story (with meaningful emotional beats) are also pretty on point for me
Is the seme an asshole, yes. Is the uke unhinged, yes. Conclusion, if u like toxic yaoi this is pretty much it.
I don’t think you should go into it expecting a super mind blowing plot or extremely deep characters, but for what it’s worth, i do think it’s an enjoyable read for toxic yaoi enjoyers, especially with mutual toxicity from not just the seme but the uke as well. Definitely a freak for freak kinda situation if ur into that ^^
Whether you end up liking the manhwa really boils down to personal taste, since people look for different things in a manhwas to deem it enjoyable.
And it doesn’t really have a very “bad” ending as u wld expect despite being a toxic bl ;^_^
Binge read this and while i do have some grievances with the story, i kinda like it all in all. Its a fun story with emotional points. Plot however, moves kinda slow and as many ppl said, is often overshadowed bcz of smut scenes... which well. yeah, i agree… tho it is tagged as a smut so i jst see it as obligatory smut scenes that have to be in the story
But i do think the plot is somewhat intriguing from what we know. And the side plots arent that boring imo. Also, I personally ended up really liking the MC and i feel like the dynamic between the mc and ml is really cute and works for me! They have some emotional moments i really enjoy.
And I know it may be a little stereotypical at times and falls on common tropes but i really feel like the characters in this story have their own charm. (though the redhead girl highkey annoys me) As a whole, the manhwa in my opinion feels pretty refreshing to me ;^^ its not for everyone but i would recommend at least giving it a try to see if its to your taste ><
.. its been p long since i read this but.. i get that alot of people dislike the fact yul is so popular online when he’s clearly portrayed as the antagonist of the series and the bad guy. But i also think it really comes down to entertainment, and what kind of characters people are generally drawn to.
And this is my personal opinion but characters other than the mc and yul really didnt leave much of a impression on me and felt like filler sometimes IMO. Obviously the mc is happier and in a much healthier relationship with the endgame love interest but it does feel a little boring to me all in all, since yul feels like much more of compelling a character in comparison. Therefore, ppl end up rooting for him because they dislike the alternative, which does sounds crazy since the alternative is the happier/healthier one.. but in this case, the story centers around yul long enough already for him to feel more interesting.
Of course, I recognise this is all subject to my personal opinion so anyone else is completely in their own right to think the opposite/otherwise.
Hence, i also dont view people liking/rooting for him is really about being edgy or different, since in this case i can really see it being just a case of personal preference. And well, yandere characters have always been quite popular in media so it’s really not that unexpected either.
ML is a bum but he’s so pretty gosh.. to be honest I feel like if you can tolerate his snobby/assholey behaviour its mostly fine..? He’s kind of a ragebaiter but nothing too bad unless ur easily annoyed.
I find certain aspects of ML’s character to br quite refreshing imo, for example, normally its not common to see a top that’s so vain about his looks, and there’s a huge focus on his passion for music and the issues he faces. I like how the manhwa explores the theme of having a strong passion for something while also becoming increasing bored/unsatisfied with said passion due to circumstances surrounding it.
ML isnt a good person per say, but i find that quality interesting because the manhwa isnt afraid to show how deeply flawed he is, and recognising it. He IS being unreasonable and he HAS hurt people, and this eventually takes a toll on him one way or another by leading people to push him away.
Though, because the focus is on ML, mc takes abit of a backseat in the characterisation department. But nonetheless i do enjoy the direction the story is taking currently.
I'm so easily annoyed usually I hate it when the ML has had boyfriends before the MC but hearing him say "When did I ever say I liked you" to his ex was soooo snobbish I actually felt bad for the ex. This author is really trying to push that he's a green flag who's eyes is ONLY to the MC when he used to be a playboy. Sassy playboy look is just annoying me
I like the emotional ups and downs + the MC and ML’s relationship and characters+ their gang. Other than that i fucking hate everything else some icky moments (not between mcs) i legitimately had to skip over (just my personal opinion)
My advice to anyone planning to read is to marinate this to completion,,, unfortunately i cant take my own advice cuz i cant stop keeping up with it and getting slightly ragebaited every now and then
Yep, i do agree with the notion that the author should dial down the sex stuff, although some ppl are okay with it. Personally i feel that even tho i can understand how it serves the plot and characters, i rlly feel like it could've had the same impact without being explicitly shown as much as it is (i feel like most people skip over the sex scenes between ban and ray anyways ) ,, i suppose its a matter of tolerance but i also believe its not wrong to have some criticisms

Im crying even jaehyeon knows ts is messy
