aaaah so that's what it was XD I couldn't figure out (apart from the obvious) why their relationship wasn't working for me. they are definitely lacking in the chemistry department! like big time. it just made no sense to me why JK suddenly became addicted to sex with Doc Dan... when they're kissing it's a bit better but apart from that I'm really not feeling it ~

They are gonna force the two together but I seriously doubt that the author will convince anyone that these two should be together. I honestly believe maybe it should have been a one-shot ╮(￣▽￣)╭

yeaaah they're gonna end up together for sure. it's going the same route as BJ Alex except Jiwoon was way more sympathetic and his chemistry with Dong-Gyun was on point. this is a bit weird bc Doc Dan is only catching feelings bc they're having sex all the time like it's sooo easy to fall for someone you're not necessarily into if you're being intimate with them (especially since this is Kim Dan's first intimate relationship) but the author is doing a really poor job at selling it. I think it could work or could have worked if the characters had been fleshed out more. all they do is have sex all the time (at least from what we can see as the audience) and it's taking away from the opportunity to connect with the characters. it wouldn't be an issue if this was going for a mindless fuck-story but it's presenting itself as smth deeper except it doesn't deliver (at least up till now it hasn't) Kim Dan got his sob story so we really feel for him but bc we don't know shit about JK it's difficult to even understand him. he's a beautiful wealthy prick (probably with a ton of suppressed trauma) who behaves like an ass bc he knows he can get away with it and also bc he just doesn't give a shit about other ppl and how they feel all he cares about is himself. but then he goes and does some really nice things like paying off the Doc's debt and going to see his grandma... I wanna find out if this story can be saved and I also wanna know the story behind the whole jinx deal bc that's never been explained it was just like JK needs to fuck otherwise he loses and you shall be given no more information just take it as a fact like okay I guess.... this has potential but it's neglecting it

That being said is it really worth it to force two people together? I wish authors think about these things as they develop the plot. My mind wanders to many other yoai that have done the exact same thing. An I think it's just a bad curse of yaoi or rather the psychological state of how the reader has experienced fantasy of intimacy in their life. We all fantasize romance how ever logic spin our concept into something right? I think this is the authors way of trying to express a fantasy and just like most people we don't make sense lol(￣∇￣")

I absolutely agree with you! There is an overabundance of wish-fulfillment stories similar to this (minus the rape and usually with more chemistry) the bad-boy-turned-good-for-that-one-special-person is just ugh like it's smth that happens every day... also they always happen to be super rich and rescue the poor struggling dude (or girl if it's a different genre) from some hopeless situation... I get where this fantasy is coming from but I don't get why it always has to be so extreme like can't they just be normal ppl with everyday struggles and realistic lives...

I keep spinning the story in various directions in mind and I think this could be really interesting otherwise but rn it's just not great they're pretty and that's about it XD

like imagine if JK met Kim Dan after losing his title and Kim Dan actually helps him get back to the top and JK pays off his debt out of gratitude or smth and once the grandma passes he'd be there to comfort him and then feelings develop like a nice slow-burn story with deep emotions (or doesn't even have to be slow maybe they hook up while drunk or smth and then there's a little push-n-pull and then they properly fall for each other) and JK could totally be a complete ass in the beginning and then he'd warm up to Kim Dan bc he's just super loveable. I also wish there would be more time spent on the other characters. Potato is super cute and I love the rest of the boxing dudes too they have a nice dynamic between them it'd be really fun if all that got explored better. This story as it is rn isn't much of a story it's just well-drawn smut and honestly I think the author just wanted these characters but didn't plan out the plot properly that came second to the setting and the characters so basically the story could have been anything with all the clichés included but instead we got this...

also this is kinda unrelated but both Dong-Gyun and Kim Dan had no prior experience and I'm just really tired of the "pure uke" meets "alpha-fuck-boy seme" trope

I will say if kim was rude by nature i'de like a explanation (not the absent parent who is abusive vibe) like maybe just showing him going up poor, and not being a super social guy who gets along with other guys due to his awkwardness. The plot doesn't need to be helicopters and yakusa based.
