So only a quick thought, because now I'm wondering, would Ye-gyum have left Jooyung and went after Jooin right away at that last scene of the main story, if Jooyung hadn't let him go saying 'I don't need you anymore'? Just wondering, if it wouldn't be better if that first step in letting go was done by him himself, not being ordered by his 'owner', of course no doubt, Ye-gyum never truly wanted an owner, he was stucked in that, like he said, all he ever wanted is to have a lover, to love and be loved, and Jooin is everything to him, I just find this one piece maybe missing from his development journey perspective, because the fact that you're doing the step on your own is more powerful in the matter of healing.
Either way, I love this story, it's complex, touching tough aspects of trauma, and yes, Jooin and Ye-gyum are ment to be, amazing lovely relationship!
I personally see their ending as both of them letting go. I'll put how I see it and how you could interpret it. Hope it's not too long. :)
How I interpret it:
Ye-gyum gets news of where Jooin is at and goes there himself. This is right after Jooyung tells him to stay home and begs him to not run off so he can have a more in depth conversation with him, Ye-gyum "disobeyed" that request. When he gets there Jooin walks out and he offers to pick up Jooyung likely to let him know there is no pure hatred for him and likely to say good-bye as Jooin suggest. I believe that even if Ye-Gyum stayed home and waited for Jooyung the out come would still be him choosing to leave.
How you could interpret it:
In the moment he gets there he basically chooses the love he most wants.
He could have easily felt pressured to beg Jooyung for him and to stay by his side, but the fact he doesn't shows he was showed a love he truly craved after believing he would take anything given to him and between those forms of love he chose the one that gave him comfort and freedom.
TLDR; While it was an order to "go", he chose to go.
Ofc you could also see this as him not "truly letting go of his obedience" but I think that would feel off when we look at the very end and the side stories
Thanks for your feedback, really appreciate it, because I was always wondering if I'm missing something, because as I love Songhyel and Ouroboros is simply amazing, that here, despite that I like the whole concept, I felt conflicted.
The main piece for me missing was at that moment when Jooin left without a word and Ye-Gyum went to Jooyung, here some confirmation I think was missing for me. I guess I hoped for more 'firm' statement that it's his decision at that moment, taking into account that main piece of the series was about his trauma and letting go, hard to say, maybe one panel where Ye-Gyum is giving more clear sign for telling Jooin that he only wants to say goodbye (as it was only mentioned later by Jooin, that it didn't take him long).
What didn't sit right for me was also the panel with a shock instead of some relief on Ye-Gyum's face when Jooyung said he doesn't need him anymore. But you are right, if Ye-Gyum wouldn't like to break free, he wouldn't left Jooyung there, it was always more like broke attachment then any kind of love. So maybe shock was there only because of how surprisingly simple that was now.
And then Ye-Gyum running out of there like not sure if Jooin would be there waiting... hard to say, I think I wanted at the end more clear letting go form Ye-Gyum, not only him like... adapting to events...
But yes, I agree that moment when he gets the info that Jooin is out there and he right away asked for money to get there, it's like his first step to set free from that mess and chosing the one he truly loves, Jooin, now that I think about it, the moment when he gets there Jooin touched his neck and wanted to take his hand away, but Jooin grabbed it, like a sign that he doesn't want to let go of him and he wants to go with him.
And this is why it felt kinda flat for me and I was conflicted, especially comparing to their later conversation and whole side stories, because something in 'confirmation' part was missing at that moment, most of it was guesswork for me.
Of course Ye-Gyum decided to let go and finally put himself on a first place, even already while being at Jooyung's home he still was thinking about Jooin, because that whole part with Jooyung was never a real love, it was more like belonging, he even told Jooin that he thought about him everyday, that he loves him, missed him and wants to be with him. He wants a lover, not an owner, and I love that scene, this is why I was so conflicted because of those missing for me parts earlier. But yes, it was maybe Ye-Gyum letting go of something he treated as a safe place in the past, even if it was destructive, it was something he knew, but now he learned what real relationship based on love looks like, and he wants it back
And you're right, at the end of the day, Ye-Gyum was already set and ready to leave that connection with Jooyung and run free to Jooin, so that would happen either way, he was just scared and not sure, but finally they are both happy together, and that's all that matters
Sorry for a long note, it just bothered me for some time, I think I'll reread again in some time with a different perspective, that already him running out of that house and running to see Jooin is breaking free (he knows that this is what he wants) and check how it works for me, thanks a lot!

Saw raws up to Vol 4 and I guess I expected too much from this series, typical toxic trops, and that rape was really unnecessary, totally destroyed their dynamic for me, what is sad when it's added out of nowhere so later in the plot, when you're already invested in the story, and they didn't even address that... at this point it's just another series pushing angst by force... the further the worse
Spoiler
I saw them too and I definitely agree, very disappointing! 'I want to protect you so much that I will rape and humiliate you in front of everyone' what kind of bullshit is that?! And that asshole had an audacity to feel jealous later?! Gino was running after him and forgave him just like that? Gosh, such a slop, and seriously I had hopes for this one, but like you said, it's another dragged slop, seriously, rape is not the only plot device available!
wait.. so gino just forgave him? no grovel for dante? wtf okay i had high hopes since vol 1 was good, might remove this to my reading now
Spoiler
Of course not, there is a scene of Dante crying in the shower, but bitch, what's done is done, he raped Gino! Where Gino was more irritated that Donte fake his death, he even is the one running after him, seriously, poor writing, totally out of nowhere, rape added just for a momentary angst, nothing more, what is disgusting! I'm so tired of this sick trend, seriously, rape is not something to be treated lightly even in fiction, and I'm pretty sure there will be more SA, as the real Gino showed up out of nowhere now and is very strange, so yeah, I already moved this one into my dropped list...
