ion really like when authors take a previously sadistic playboy dom top and virgin sub bot and abruptly switch their dynamic. i feel like it happens a lot when authors get backlash for the top being too aggressive or rape-y. i can recall very similar scenes happening in manhwas like jinx, you are my world, low tide in twilight, etc. it just feels forced/OOC and purely fan service. it’s like implying the only thing wrong with their relationship is the sex aspect, and briefly reversing this dynamic somehow signifies progress in their relationship (when neither character has actually worked to improve their relationship or communicate about areas of disagreement/consent).
this is just a personal gripe of mine and I’m probably completely wrong. i don’t blame ppl for enjoying a more dominant nanjo, these just kinda feel like completely different characters from season 1 and I’m just trying to verbalize why this change feels so disingenuous to me.
i really can’t take people who say misandry is an issue seriously lmao. even if chani wasn’t a misandrist from birth, i feel his whole experience with baek muyeol is reason enough to dislike men. his misandry also makes their relationship more interesting lwk. like it’s funny to think his unwillingness to view seokjun romantically isn’t because of homophobia but rather because he’s repulsed by the concept of men in general.
i feel like people would care less about the notes if they were at the end of the chapter. putting a meme inside the text bubble itself is giving that one gmnd translator that used ‘skibidigram’.
