i mean i dont like how hes so pushy at times but its more unconscious and i wonder if its just how he had grown up around this sort of business, i mean obviously hes more used to workers and loveless stuff. rn im js reading because im verrrry curious abt where this goes, but i hope ml becomes more conscious of the mc...tho its unlikely in these sorta stories
a big part of the story is that the ML is extremely self-centered and it shows up in every facet of his life, even when he's trying to do something good, HE has to think it's good for it to be good (this ain't a spoiler, it should be lwk obvious by now). he does try to like tone it down a bit, but it's hard for him because it's like talking to someone who genuinely thinks they aren't doing shit. a lot of the time the MC doesn't really refuse him, but doesn't really accept because he's scared of the ML, but the ML just doesn't get it.
I feel like a massive part of the story is that there really isn't anyone good in the MC's life who genuinely cares for him, except the ML. the ML, while pushy and self-centered, very obviously is extremely in love with MC. he cares like god sent MC to him as a personal gift. so in this circumstance, where MC basically has never felt love, where no one around MC loves him, he sort of becomes attached to the ML.
and when I say ML tries for MC, he genuinely does try to change for the MC. whether or not it's successful is arguable, but to the MC, his attempt probably moved him more than the end result.
dunno if people accept the conclusion, I actually don't entirely dislike it personally.

his ass is genuinely the eight wonder of the world
