Oh it made me so mad at the end of season 1, ep 37 when Cheongwoo had that thought that his verbally abuse aunt was right about his nature. BOY do not listen to her toxic ass teaching she was telling you as a literal child! You never made a choice to go into sex work, you were forced into it. Don’t like that dumbass aunt and the gaslighter 5000 trick you into believing this is what you want/ deserve.
It won’t be for everyone but maybe because I needed a good “torment-story” while I dealt with some personal issues I liked it. If you are looking for something to bring out tears due to injustice and frustration but also give you catharsis I’d recommend. Don’t read if you like fluff cause ain’t much of that. Do not read if you need grief tears.
Asil stayed strong and true to himself throughout the whole story. One of the only times I can stomach an abused uke trope is when they have good mental fortitude and an unbreakable will and Asil is that guy. His turn around to slightly romantic feelings didn’t feel too fast- and I read this all at once so didn’t get a week to week breather or the seasonal break. I’d imagine the novel delves even deeper into his, Valery’s, and the other character thoughts and make it feel even more well paced.
I did think this would be a wonderful story for a reincarnation or a time loop situation and really hoped for that but that wasn’t this, I’ll just reread beyond the memories.
Like I said I’m happy I read it.

Now the truth is out there. Joshua you hold all the cards right now. Tell Chase everything and that you love him- don’t hurt my babygirl
