The whole village “arc.” What was the miasma? Where did it come from? Were the villagers even alive or was it an illusion? Why was he seeing things that no one else was seeing? What did the ex-girlfriend want from him that she drugged him? And after all that they just left when every thing went to hell so we don’t know what happened to her. I’m mean we could rightly assume she died but everything felt really anticlimactic.
Also why is the ml so obsessed with the mc?
This is my understanding of the village arc. The villagers are not alive as (the pregnant lady) belle asked senna to put those flowers around to put a curse on them and make them live hell for the horrible things they did to her. The normal looking village with human villagers is just an illusion, and the dark, creepy, dead looking village that Kay saw is the real village. Kay saw that because his mind is weak unlike Schuman who is a mage and the grand duke, Zigril who is of royal blood. I think the girl Helena was trying to drug Zigril. She probably wanted to drug him to get him weak as she cant defeat him and then take Kay with her? But of course our careless Kay drank it instead. I have no idea what happened to her but my belief is maybe Zigril killed her but made the others look for aloshya.But I agree they should've made it more in-depth so we could understand more.

Hey, can anyone tell me if Rute is the ML? Because I really hope he is and that it’s not the crown prince.
Given that they've set the story up so that Rute is the main love interest so far, I think he's the end game. I don't think any of the other male characters have as much presence as him. I would be very surprised if he doesn't end up being the ML.
