Is Dante's way of seeing his brother, as a smiling moon head, somewhat related to his fog-aquired power= seeing his true self? After all he did gain it without even ingesting any fog pebble, just by the mist. So maybe if his family is related to the fog project he might have come indirectly in contact with fog before... and it was only evident on his brother because he was the one whom affected him the most, so he was more sensible (?)... also, smiling moon head = someone who stands above others and laughs at their struggles, but doesn't the moon shine only because of the sun? Is it Dante? I might be getting too ahead of myself lol
OK, I asked our dear assistant ChatGPT: fireflies represent departing souls and being surrounded by them is either a moment of threshold (life&death) or simply a reunion of the emotions in a liminal realm. There is another interpretation by which the fireflies stand for how fickle happiness can be, and while the reunion might be real it would be seen in a "frozen time/everything changed but our feelings didn't" type of way.
Either way, I'd say the author failed both. In the first case everything should have been more ambigous; I've seen story uses this methapor and it can work beautifully, but the letter about surviving and seeing her as an old lady make it hard to not take it seriously... why add those details like you are trying to fool us readers with possible scenarios and visual confirmations pointing at her being alive when everything else does to her death.
In the second one, what do you mean in 50 years they couldn't have found a way to announce her survival to the world, wtf; the young master who supposedly saved her had enough resources to spread information like that easely. Not to mention there is no way ML didn't attend her funeral or see her corpse, like there is no way FL stayed put on that island instead of searching for him. It just makes no sense at all.
Yeah it gotta be the first option, really done badly I must say.
Apart from the ending the story is truly beautiful
- Red haired dude is called RR, he is using the limited amount of fog for some project, he needs cute dandelion alive.
- Our cute dandelion was a soldier under RR, he was born in the fog and raised in a facility with a girl (possibly his sister, mybe dead, he wants to fullfil her wish =potato/animal), he seems to "know" the hollowed one guarding district 0 (wanted to show it the sweet potato, my theory it might be the facility girl), his last mission traumatized him, he is really talented (physically enhanced) but doesn't want to become the high leader, he is hiding from RR, is his arm slowly growing back?
- Dante has a suspicious ass family (might be involved in fog research and administration), especially his moon head brother (some say it might be RR, idk), his talent is seeing people for who they are (reading into their intentions).
- Hairen is pretty handsome, his talent is observation (able to see beings at a cellular level), has a medical background, he is also pretty fast and strong, his weakness might be bodies that aren't organic (like the hollowed ones who seem made out of stone).
- Zip girl(?or boy) is a shoulder (boss) from district A (which seems to be harsher than district 0), was given the task to find cute dandelion by RR.
- With enough fog and talent you can ascend, otherwise you fall (or maybe become a hollowed one?), there is a limited amount of fog (5 years they say, for a project conducted by RR), the hollowed one in district 0 attacks only those who try to escape while the other one attacked on sight, they say that hollowed one 0 reads minds and is attracted by wishes, Brun has curly hair while facility girl has straight hair so I don't think they're the same, possibly all fog children have white hair, there is a "legend" (might be from the prophetic old lady) about a talented one who'll ascend and become a high leader bringing freedom to all prisoners.
That's it for now, do you guys have noticed other things? or have different theories?
I agree with everything but the theory about "all fog children have white hair" because in chapter 31 in Hairen flashback we can see a child with orange hair. So maybe those children with white hair have the same mother or else are part of the same experiment (again in chapter 31 the father of the orang hair child said that "something terrible will happen if they talk about him to the guard" (i don't remember the name sorry), and maybe that's why the are (i think) so strong like number 182. And maybe i'm overthinking but maybe the hollow is the mother or maybe his "sister" ( someone he knew idk).
But hey, who knows, i'm so exited to see what's going to happen in the next chapter (๑•ㅂ•)و✧!!!!!

Sorry for my poor english, it's not my first language ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄.

Every time I re-read this story I get thrown into their world. And it's a really troubled yet sweet and thoughtful one. Truly beautiful, one of the best BLs out here
