Some of yall don’t understand emotional and abusive relationships, and it shows. Not to mention empathy. The writing isn’t the best, but some of you need to stfu about certain things. Mako was abused an manipulated—he feels as though he needs to be with that mf (I forgot his name, fuckin bitch) because that’s how the abusive relationship progressed. His bf’s on and off behavior is WHY he is this way, it’s literally a tactic from abusers. He’s not being stupid to be stupid, the relationship has literally been twisted in a way that Mako is dependent on his bf for that companionship. And THAT is why the abusive bf’s tactics WORKED.
I mean I would say that most people probably don't know what abusive relationships are like and honestly that's a good thing. Like I've never been in one myself, but my father was like this to my mom so I've seen/been in it before, but if they have never been around it or in it then no they wouldn't know what it's like. Oh no I agree there they are completely ignorant and should be more empathetic about his situation, but I also get that if you haven't been in it you can never really understand you know? Thinking "He should just leave" is a reasonable thing to say cause it seems like it should be that easy but those of us that have experienced it know it's not all that simple. But it's probably also pointless to try and explain it since they can't wrap their brains around the Why themselves you know? Like talking to a brick wall.
GUYS. For those who are lost, keep two things in mind:
1. This is a side story of Pearl Boy. If you haven’t read it, maybe it’ll help with your confusion TO read it.
2. Just read the official translations. If you try to read the fan translations with the official you’re gonna get fucking confused.
STOOOPPP complaining that you don’t understand when it is seriously not that hard Media literacy and patience somehow has become a fading thing with people on this website like PLEASE, before you complain, see what others are saying first and maybe take the initiative. Not trying to diss you, but if you have an issue with how I’m trying to explain, you ARE whom I’m talking about.

For those a little confused on Grayson’s behavior: idk how to explain this without spoilers BUT basically he was raised thinking that children should be punished in that sort of way. Kinda sorta.. he’s a bit different.
yeah i kinda understand him, his dumb in human situations, he can only perfect by the book experiences
