Mc bumps into Shin Jaehyun at the stairs and Shin Jaehyun claims he was looking for him and offers a yogurt since MC hasn’t been eating well. Mc warns him not to go into the classroom because of Go Yohan and his friends. Shin Jaehyun then invites him to the art room. In the room Shin Jaehyun says he was bullied (due to racism), he was called a racist nickname, they made fun of how he spoke and made him pronounce vanilla and pretend not to understand him and tell him to speak real english.
What he says to MC in English is ‘vanilla’ not a long sentence.
It honestly wasn’t a long bit in the novel but there are missing details that were skipped.
This story is like finding out your friend is the problem and no matter what you say they won’t listen

I honestly think so too, I think the lie will get to a turning point but might not be solved since than said in chapter 1 hima is ‘wearing his face’ maybe he doesn’t find out what happens?
I see a lot of people complaining about the father arc but irl it’s hard to live with an abusive parent as a child and as an adult keep hoping that your parent changed and even ignore the red flags because youre desperate for the connection and affection you missed out on. The father knew that and it helped him keep him Mc under his thumb.
It was frustrating but felt realistic of having dysfunctional relationships with your parents who pretend to care yet are using you but that 1% of love you’re getting makes you crave and hope for a better future with them.
