i understand going on a hiatus but why wait a whole 10 days to release a hiatus announcement? i think they could've released it when they uploaded the most recent chapter or upload a new chapter along w the hiatus notice. i never understood why artists do this bc it's understandable for them to take a break; it doesn't need to be some big announcement 10 days/on schedule after the last upload. idk i'm just coping bc i really wanted the next chapter ! ! ! rest well </3

I wish they wouldve just announced this along side the previous chapter (/TДT)/

have you considered that author might have realized they need a break while working on the next chapter and it's probably it took time to discuss it with higher ups and everything

and it's not a scheduled break. usually they aren't announced (between the lines, sugar trap)

yes that is very possible that they would feel the need to take a break mid-chapter. but i think you're misunderstanding me a little bit. i was mainly trying to say that they announced the hiatus 10 days following the release of the last chapter, which is the same scheduled timeframe as their usual chapter release schedule--even though they could announce it any time within that timeframe bc like u said, they could decide to take a hiatus while working on the next chapter. and im not completely sure how the process for requesting a hiatus works as a primary author to these "higher ups" but i'm sure it depends on whatever official platform they work with, and since it's an actual job for authors, it's probably much more nuanced and actually planned than what we typically think of as a hiatus (a hiatus to us is suddenly taking a little break in the middle, but just imagine what you have to do or request for a different regular full-time job!). BUT we are reading a translator's version, which is usually a little behind from the serialization on original platforms since it's on a free site. and since we are reading a translator's version of these chapters, they could very well choose to go on hiatus randomly without the need to consult "higher ups," which i don't think they even have those (maybe just their editor(s) but i'm sure its more lenient as a translator) and then that goes back to my initial point of why wait the whole scheduled timeframe.

also it is technically a scheduled break bc they announced when they'd be back.

dindin translates the chapter right after it comes out in Korean, it's not a official version. so we got actual notice as it was released. and a lot of ongoing manwha actually release both Korean and English version of the same time lately so that's not really a translator issue here

they are not self published as far as I can tell so they should have someone above them like a manager/editor as you said and that said manager probably is the one who actually talk about it
that's what I meant by higher ups lol

its very very likely that the platform is responsible for such notices and you're probably right about them being able to notify earlier but for some reason they don't ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ honestly I can only speculate how contracts between the publisher and author work.. now I'm curious to find out some articles or interviews actually because I mainly have a general understanding of now manga works

actually my first thought was that it's a bait to keep people waiting as much as possible for the next chapter. evil

and by scheduled breaks I meant the ones who actually a part of a schedule - 5 chapters following a hiatus instead of a chapter, etc.

    anyway it sucks ass
