Being trans here exists in the context of an omegaverse and a sub/dom universe. Acc the manga it’s usually dom/sub mental genders that have developed alongside the physical a/b/o genders, with alphas usually being doms and omegas being subs. However the lead couple here are a sub alpha and a dom omega, so in the context of the manga they’re both transgender (and the same is stated in the text of the manga in chapter 2).

and especially with how much Dobin has had to mature and spend his life protecting himself, I think its lovely that he gets to be an airhead about stuff again because he has someone he trusts to make sure he's safe
(like I know its prolly just the author's taste changing but still I think the thematic story of Dobin spending his life tough, and finally finding someone who will look after him and let him be immature but still respect his opinion is very very sweet and I love those kind of stories)
