Don't wanna yuck your yum or anything but I couldn't finish this. YIKES. Love a devoted sweet seme but why the uke bordering on a child/family. The line is a lil to blurry for me on this one boys.
You Are So Lovely (I think it's called) does this kinda concept better. Not saying it's completely unproblematic but much easier to stomach if this is ya thing. This one so heavily leans on the father part way too hard.

Another one where I dunno if I love it or hate it. Love a pathetic puppy seme but damn is he dumb or stupid or dumb? Like the strat was NOT IT. Dunno how he thought that was gonna work out ???
Possessive, pathetic, (all the p's) puppy seme's have me in a chokehold though so I'm still on board unfortunately

My take on this is that he's normally quite bright and USUALLY doesn't stand for disrespect. HOWEVER I do think he's a bit foolish for not realizing just how terribly he's been treated by seme until now.
But at the same time he's never had any experience with relationships and he didn't have a good upbringing with examples of how people are supposed to treat you. The seme is also a scheming bastard and was successfully hiding a certain percentage of his dickness.
I think it's a bit frustrating but forgivable how the uke was unable to see the signs when this is technically the best he had been treated even if the treatment was still bad. A vulnerable person was manipulated and it does feel a bit victim blamey to call him stupid for that? At the end of the day when he DID realize the full scope of the situation he got himself outta there.
Just my two cents. I definitely understand where everyone's coming from though. Not tryna police your opinions.

considering his struggling childhood it does make sense that he’d be susceptible to growing attachment to people very easily. I do think that being able to outrun loan sharks and such for years is very admirable. Uke doesn’t seem to mull over past mistakes and would rather look to the future. So, I think the fact he is able to immediately think of an opportunity to leave, very intelligent
Also, meeting the seme everywhere like that, would make anyone feel like it's destiny or something lol.
And uke knew that the seme didn't love him, and because of his past he might have been overconfident, thinking that he could handle it. "I have endured up till now, so no reason something like that would hurt me, when he is good to me otherwise". At least, I think that's the mentality I would have in his situation.
Exactly. I don't wanna say he's not emotionally intelligent since he's pretty mature beyond his years given how much he's been through but he's.. inexperienced I suppose. When your inexperienced like that it's easy to lean into tropes like fate. Using what you get exposed to in media instead of real life experience. But with experience you can identify red flags much more easily and know what they lead to.

As someone who has struggled with agoraphobia, social anxiety, and executive dysfunction, I feel for the uke quite a lot actually.
It was nice that the seme wasn't shaming him for his living space. For people who are struggling mentally like that they are often fully aware that they live in a dump and are likely embarrassed as all hell. I've been there, done that. So shaming and just telling them to clean up isn't very helpful. If they could they would've already.
Sometimes all you need is some loving supportive people around you to help you OR people able to get you the help you need from professionals. If you're struggling like this don't be afraid to reach out even if it's embarrassing. There will always be people willing to help without judgement.
That toxic bastard didn't deserve a love arc tho -_-
This story is similar to ~Melt Flirt Cookies~ and ~Make You Mine~ if you're into stories about an uke scared of people and being isolated by someone close to them because of some odd obsession they have with the uke, only for a white knight (seme) to help them get over their fears and kick that toxic person out of their life.
