Wow this is one of the rare good guideverse stories. I like how their relationship is more organic and Taegun is given space to stew on his feelings. I feel like a lot of stories rush this part by having the guide and esper sleep once and they both develop feelings.

It is MTL. These scan groups are not official translations. They are MTL for faster released (they are good if you want raws)
So if you dont want to read a jumble mess, just wait when the official chapters get uploaded.

mythtoons is also ai. but unlike other ai groups. they do a better job of at least having a qc to check the ai translations. i say they do a pretty decent job at least. i still prefer official translations since the dialogue translations feels more natural like people are talking to each other. meanwhile with mythtoons, it feels stiff and doesn't flow as well.
you mean the novel translations? yeah, unfortunately almost all of modern day kr/jp/cn novel fans translations are done by ai groups. (they even have the audacity asking for money!) if you don't mind doing the work yourself, i do recommend getting the books on korean google books. they all cost together (4 volumes) a little less than 10€ rn. they have a discount going rn, so it's probably rounds up to 5-6€.
you do need to do the machine/ai translations yourself. but at least your money should be going to the original novel writer. (idk what's the split between google, the publisher and the writer though).

Yeah...I felt the same. I remember earlier when novel translators used to do it purely for the love of the game. I am still not 100% confident labeling them as AI but I am pretty sure they are.
The amount of chapters these groups release in a day is what tipped me off because some people have literally translated what seems like 1000+ chapters in a short amount of time.
Anyway, I miss pre-AI era of everything.

it's more of a suspicions. the amount of projects they take on and at the speed they are churning out these chapters. it's impossible not to rely on ai/machine translations to make things faster. at least, they are slightly better than the others out there for having a qc to double check the translations. also they operate like any of ai/machine tl groups by having chapters locked behind a paywall, and not releasing all of the chapters that imo should be free.
i don't mind paying for official chapters (which i do for my absolute favs, and after they are completed) but unofficial chapters? hell no! sure, it's one thing they take some donations to help with buy the chapters but, if the team is from the us, the chapters in korean is cheap for dollars buyers because won is a weaker currency. i don't think they need to lock chapters behind paywall.

i agree with what you're saying about the paywall (though they do need to pay the translators somehow) but that has nothing to do with them using or not using ai
hmm... back in the day, fans translations are done by volunteers with maybe some donations to help pay for the chapters. so i can't help but be suspicious of their operations model. again they churn out the chapters really fast and has so many projects that can only be done with some ai translations help. i don't think all of their projects are done by ai, some might be partial ai translations with human translators on the side, and some fully humans. anyhow, i'm just cynical and overly critical because we can't trust anything not to be ai.
