Yes! I think you're right, there was no sexual chemistry vs how much chemistry they normally have outside of it, which I feel in BLs is usually reversed. But even their foreplay and getting off together in earlier chapters was so good. I think that made it even more disappointing.

Ok so after rereading, I think the timeline is messed up (either mistranslated or author's plothole). Looking at chapter 18, MC recalls that they had sex two nights in a row with the second night's scene looking like a scene from chapter 3 (though it still feels way different than how their first night went). So I don't think the timeskip of a year is correct (they also had MC's she at 33 in the beginning but changed to 30 in the latter chapters). Idk, numbers and pronouns for whatever reason seem to always get mistranslated in these situations so I think that makes me feel better about their relationship ig

By using my critical thinking I inferred that a long time ago the elves must’ve done something for old man to be pissed off. And to be fair, if a species had been using humans as slaves and bait to torture them and save themselves for over a century? I’d be pretty pissed off.

So every elf going forward is to be executed on site to pay for previous generations transgressions? And I’m going by the MC’s perspective who didnt even know elves were a thing before seeing them slaughtered indiscriminately. I get we the audience should be making assumptions that something happened between elves and humans in the past that would warrant such animosity but fully trusting that the old man is completely justified in what he did doesn’t sit right with me without a better explanation.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, it looks like you got your explanation in the next chapter. It’s cause it wasn’t a “village”, it was just a place where bandits holed up after robbing and killing for supplies, and those bandits just happened to be elves.

I get that but it’s a little ironic that you were also very quick to just ignore everything the old man said about the elf’s being extremely selfish and using humans as sacrifices, killing them brutally, and using them as slaves.

And you are ignoring the fact that he killed those 4 elves bc they use many humans to come back to life. And that’s what all the other elves in the “village” was doing, and I say village in quote bc it’s obviously NOT a village, it’s where the elves slaughter and steal from humans for fun just bc they wanted to, and it’s been going on ever since they arrived on the planet meaning they have been committing genocide unprovoked as soon as the world turned into a desert 100 years ago.

I feel like you are siding with the elves bc you just like the idea of all elves being “good” nature loving vegans that only kill if they have to…this is obviously not the case seeing as they have bloody clothes and the stolen jewelry of humans from 100 years ago.

Their killing and sacrifice of humans is obviously a show that they give no fucks about humans or sacrificing them to save their own asses. If you were in the old man’s boots where you were there before the world was a desert and all of a sudden there are elves killing your family which I’m pretty sure is what he was talking about, you’d most definitely hate elves and the way they act.

Tldr: It was never about the elves, I was defending how the MC reacted. Guys, I know the elves are bad. We all know the elves are bad (especially now that there's been more context). I was annoyed and posted this because of how everyone was reacting after the chapter when the elves first showed up dropped. Everyone was so quick to assume the elves were bad and deserved to be slaughtered and berated the MC for interfering and questioning why the old man was going out of his way to murder them. I was defending the MC. He deserved an explanation. I get we as the viewers are privy to internal monologs and backstory clues but the MC didn't even know elves were a thing until that moment. Also, people were literally posting 'the elves were racist so they deserved to die' meanwhile the old man (justified or not) was clearly racist towards the elves to the point where he goes out of his way to murder any he finds. Just felt hypocritical.
