I'm so happy that Astrid finally realized MC's feelings. Sure MC is labeled as sacrifice, but Astrid should see how her family treat her first.
They spoiled her, kept delaying the ritual or whatever it is, and showered her with care and affection. While the duke indeed want to use MC's mana/power to cure the land, he never do any experiment or action that could possibly hurt MC. Which, I think, played a big part on how the MC insist on staying and help them. MC could feel the warmth the Duke family gave her.
I hope Astrid will takes her time to observe the situation first in the future before taking any extreme judgement or action.

Tho, maybe its just me with this kind of mindset, but if you can't accept the curse of that family then don't get married. You said you loved him, so maybe accept him as he is. He got cursed, its not his real self and he also might wish to get rid of it. I know another manhwa who also have the similar condition but the mother still loves their family despite their cold attitudes, maybe she can learn from her.
Also, knowing she went through a lot but still shove Tan? Maybe I have grudge, but I still can't forget her action.

Our MC told her a very good reason about why she wanted to stay and yet all she did was obsessed about MC's power. Even her words about Hilda kinda don't sit well to me.

She's absolutely not being fair to her other child, either. The kid has to default to his dad and we know he doesn't want to go through with killing MC, but will stand aside if it does happen.
I think Astrid is simply pointing out that magic is a field that you don't progress in like leveling up. Whatever power you have, you have and you just have to work within those parameters.
MC is a child sacrifice and Astrid doesn't want her family to legit murder a child. Especially since there is NO guarantee that killing this kid will magically fix the desertification. She's been studying and trying to fix the region for years. She knows her husband plans on killing MC the moment she woke up, so she took her and ran. She probably cares about the people in the region, but those people aren't bound to the land. They can move. None of it is fair to anyone. She's just doing what she thinks is right.
But idk... I think the duke and his fams slowly got better. Tho there is still a talk about sacrifice, but they lowk doting the MC. Despite not having emotion, they've tried their best.
I also kinda don't like how lady Astrid shoved away her own child just to kidnap MC. She knew that his husband actually cares about her but still choose divorce over MC who she barely knows (cmiiw, because it seems like that to me)

it explains it more in the novel but the duke family is very strong physically in exchange for no mana and astrid know that and the reason why astrid favours our mc is because mages adore those with more mana than themselves but yeah she does treat them rough in the novel especially the duke not that he minds anyways
