I don't think he is homophobic, but bisexual? Demisexual? Sure, although he hasn't feel attraction towards other men before, besides fooling around with his friend when they were younger (jerking off together). They divorced because she didn't feel loved enough as I see it, maybe she felt more love towards him than he had for her, maybe they grew apart, I don't quite remember it. Although he grief his divorce pretty hard, he has accepted being loved by another man pretty graciously and his initial reticence came from being tangled with the person he represents professionally plus the baggage from knowing him from a time he rather not remember.
He is bisexual. However, as his therapist said, he has a hard time dealing with mistakes because he blames everything on himself way too much due to his father calling him useless his entire life. Sometimes relationships just don't work out even though both are good people.
