I both read and watched Kimetsu no Yaiba. Hmm I finished reading the manga first, and then watched the anime. But for the anime, I wasnt in for the plot since I basically know what will happen. I was in for how the charactersts were animated, the action scenes, effects, their voices etc. It was pretty entertaining. But I personally liked the manga more since there arent any fillers in between scenes which made the anime lengthy. I suggest that you also read the manga first and then watch the anime :">

Genuine question, but what don't you like about KNY? I finished the anime first, then I jumped into the manga (rare because I'm more of a manga reader, but the 3d animation was so good). The manga is a pretty quick read, it's really fast pace, and it's going to end in one more chpt (rn it's on chpt 204, and the last chpt is 205)—I read it in 3-4 days (haven't read the parts where it got animated, but I will soon). A movie is also going to come out soon. If you really don't like the series, then drop it? But, I suggest watching the anime first cause it's really good.

I'm just very picky with how I invest time in things. I only watched 1 episode, but I didn't like the vibe. I know when I'll continue something in 3 chapters of a novel,3 episodes for an anime, and 1 episode for a kdrama. Manga depends. I would do my 3 episode guide usually. however I generally feel, shounen anime adaptations tend to lose a lot of the edge and grit that is in modern shounen manga. I've been disappointed in recent adaptations. That's why I like Boku no hero, promised neverlands, ballroom e youkoso as a manga 50 times more than their anime adaptations. I could just be a manga nerd. So I wanted to see if the manga had a different tone and pacing. The art also has a lot to do with the badass-ness of a story.

Ah, gotta congrats you for your time management! I gotta do that more...Also, I can relate to that, I feel like shounen mangas are way better (agree with you on all your examples, never heard of ballroom e youkoso, though)—and I like the style more in mangas cause it's the actual mangaka's hand. Though, there's exceptions, like trigger's animation is beautiful, Studio Orange (made AMAZING 3d animation animes like Beastars and Houseki No Kuni), and KNY falls in that category (for me, at least). The animation is good, the 3d animation is good, it's all so nice! Maybe give it more of a try and it'll grow on you! It did for me, cause I remember how much my friends would pressure me to watch it, but I didn't, and when I did I was OBSESSED. The difference between the manga and anime is the manga has more funny, small scenes that has to be cut out cause of time and money concerns in the anime, the pacing in the manga is more faster (also because I heard that the mangaka has family issues so they had to quickly end it), but other than that, the anime stayed loyal to the source material! It's rare for me to start an anime than read the manga, but there's exception and it's the good animes! No pressure, though, everyone has different tastes.

wow nice. I think I'll read the manga tho, just cus it seems to suit me better. I put more value in an unedited and loose drawing style than super clean animation, cus it expresses more emotion. So, I love anime like mob psycho 100, Samurai Champloo, Gurren Laggan, which leans towards a very loose and dynamic animation. KNY anime wasn't quite there for the 1 episode I watched lol. As you can tell, I have very particular preferences, so i drop things quickly.
