I'm sorry I might drop this, that backstory triggered me lmao and MC going about loyalty to GANGSTERS is such bs, he just thinks that way because his new boyfriend (who he met less than a month ago) is one of them. Like, seriously, what have those guys done for him that meant for him to stay? Realistically, they only care for him to stay so he doesn't snitch. Even if they catch him he may not stay alive for long. Both the MC and the ML are just spewing bs after bs and they're being either obtuse or naïve thinking they're going to have any type of normal romance.

So I love Melting Point (the hockey BL one) and I read Dash bc I read it was similar and Man that Is Not Similar, That's the Same, and it just bothers me a little bit. Like almost the same plot points, word for word. I can't complain bc everyone does it anyway and I read them all anyway but does it bother anyone else?

I feel something the author did really well is selling us the idea of Ian falling in love with Eunsan, and viceversa. I feel like sometimes the stories of "actor/celebrity/artist falls in love with the normal worker" have very flimsy or contrived explanations for their romance, or very unbalanced dynamics, but in this case none of them have any upper hand: Ian, despite being world famous, is innocent and energetic, while Eunsan is more mature but not to the point of being manipulative, and he turns into the rizzmaster whenever he proposes to, so they balance it out. I guess I just really like how they see eye to eye like equals, it makes their love seem very genuine and beautiful.
Great take. That’s truly what makes their dynamic so good is the balance and depth of each of their personalities. We really get the sense that Eunsan is a safe haven for Ian and vice versa
