I am back with another novel vs manhwa comparison because goodness me, this chapter is quite different!

1. Jin Nasol's fingernail Kim Soleum's palm that he extended, and he pulled her out of the red mascot's grasp. There was no scene where it hit the gate.

2. They did not destroy the gate, but instead slipped under it. It's a bit wild that they went in this direction, even if it's just as filler, because "property damage" is generally a no-go in ghost stories as you never know how they would retaliate. In that sense, it is very OOC for an Elite-Squad member as well as Kim Soleum to have done this, regardless of the urgency.

3. The red mascots did not melt, but had halted by the gate as if an invisible wall had stopped them. The red mascots melting had been a creative liberty given the acid attacks, but it incorrectly paints the idea that they will simply disappear if you cross the border. They will not. They merely stop chasing, because they are unable to.

4. Once again!! They changed Jin Nasol's line!! This is the scene in the novel, you have been robbed:
~~~
The A-Squad Assistant Manager stared coldly at the Researcher who had pushed her, but quickly regained her composure after glancing at my palm where the flesh was gouged in the shape of her nail equipment.
In any case, we were alive, and she seemed to judge that she didn't have the luxury to make a scene to kill the Researcher right now.
It was impressive that she remained calm despite the immense pain she must have been feeling from having her head drenched in what seemed like acid.
"First of all."
"Yes?"
The A-Squad Assistant Manager took a deep breath.
"Thanks. I survived because of you."
It was unexpected.
"It was nothing. It was thanks to your Exclusive Equipment, Assistant Manager..."
"There's no point in being humble here, you know? Just say okay. You really walked the fine line just now."
Ah, yes.
"Unlike a certain retard."
The Researcher desperately avoided her gaze.
The A-Squad Assistant Manager watched him for a moment before turning the conversation back to the task at hand.
~~~

That's all for this week's chapter! It covered only half of the novel's chapter 22.

As a novel reader, this chapter felt like it's missing out on quite a bit, so here's some novel details for clarification:

1. "Wanna become an employee?" When Soleum said he didn't want to become a part of the ghost story, and showed the wristband. The admission ticket was tearing from the vibrations. A torn ticket means he'd no longer be considered a "guest" but an "uninvited visitor" and thus would get "punished".

2. When Jaheon contacted Soleum, he thought it was a hallucination. In the novel, the interaction was only between D squad! And also, he was much more panicked in the novel:

~~
All of Team D was together. How did this happen?
"Weren't you three on different colored teams?"
I remembered clearly.
'Only Leader Lee Jaheon was on the Blue Team, the rest were on the Yellow Team!'
– Roe, that's not what's important right now...
"It is important! Did all three of you wake up in the same spot in the theme park despite being on different teams?"
~~

3. Additionally, in the novel, how Soleum managed to deduce the location was much clearer. "Waves" was not part of the conversation, but instead he asked for NS/EW:

~~
"You don't need to know the specific coordinates. Just tell me any nearby attractions! Even north, south, east, or west is fine."
– I see.
After a brief silence.
– It's the west...
~~

As the train ended in the western edge, there was nothing further beyond the walls of Fantasyland in "the west". Which is why the panels after brought up NS/EW after bringing up "wave attractions", which makes no sense for deducing the location ;;

4. They cut off Jin Nasol's (butterfly mask) line that felt like cutting off showing a part of her personality, after she brought up the idea of different boards, and Soleum insisted it's on the same board: "You can babble all the plausible nonsense you want, but if it doesn't fit reality, you have to discard it."

5. The researcher's clothes melting is an original scene lol

I think they took the feedback that it was confusing and decided to edit ch0 and ch1, so the chapters here are outdated. They edited some texts, and also added some new chunks. They're very minor edits, but they added more on explaining the concept of DER for those unfamiliar with these kinds of wikis. Very minor changes that doesn't really impact your understanding once you've finished the Abyss Train arc

Not sure if any groups will decide to redo the chapters since it's very minor changes, but it definitely will be easier to understand now for people who hasn't started the series *^^*

    I was so surprised when i checked the official kr site and saw panels i havent seen before lol. Hopefully someone picks it up

I noticed how she felt oddly more calm but man I was NOT expecting it to be the mom's POV instead cos that was a smoooooooth twist

I hate being that person who brings up "that" chapter again, but I think this is a re-attempt at the discriminatory theme with Hyun, except it's financial discrimination instead of racial discrimination. I'm sad the original arc had to go even though personally I think the author didn't have bad intentions behind it. This whole manhwa, after all, is supposed to talk about problematic topics. So I am really excited to see how the current topic gets addressed with Hyun and maybe get more peeks into his life in the US / his ideals (´∩。• ᵕ •。∩`) Also don't fight me on this comment because we're tired of this manhwa being boiled down to "that"

    well yes it’s just the way the author made it seem like POC are the racist bullies when it’s actually quite the opposite in South Korea lol. It’s the Koreans being racist to the POC/darker skinned people living in Korea not the other way around .

    Yeah, they're not exactly the most open minded of people from what I've seen;; Of course POC deals with constant racism and a WHOLE LOT of other concerns that is more prominent and definitely should be addressed, but I think it would have been an interesting story to see racism/bullying going unchecked/unbelieved because it's the other way around. Like, "being racist to a POC? Atrocious! But a POC being racist to you? LMAO suck it up"... kinda plot. Which definitely wouldn't be as realistic because... yeah. But still interesting idea to talk about imo

    Yeah it would’ve been an interesting topic but super unrealistic I agree.

Gorgeous art ruined by poor storytelling... I'm skipping on this one
