- UKE has previously had his heart broken by a straight guy. (It says so on the cover) In general, he's pretty serious about relationships and attachments -- this leads to him carefully choosing things like shoes, as well semi-withdrawn / shy behaviors. (Sure he slept with the Seme, but that was supposed to be a one off -- the situation + the seme was the uke's type + seme made the uke laugh, ya know...)
- SEME has probably always been at least bi but wasn't aware. Evidence? He wasn't able to satisfy his wife -- given that he gave her a pretty plush life (see pics off gifts and what not) the "boring" likely referred to emotional / physical / sexual relationship. Also note : he wasn't able to get it up with women post divorce but got hard super fast with the uke.
- UKE has major issues with the quiet. During the day the world is noisy, so he can rest easily. At night things get quiet so he works a night job. To combat the loneliness he has people over a lot. This doesn't mean he sleeps with them.
- THE PERFUME BOTTLE : Uke doesn't want seme to think about the person who wore the perfume, automatically assuming it could be an ex. ( Thinking about ex -> thinking about screwing women -> women are better than men -> seme abandons uke. ) Convoluted, yes, but people who are deeply injured tend to frighten easily and their brains go down a rabbit hole of self doubt and worse case scenarios at the drop of a hat.
- CHAPTER 3 ENDING : Uke has another rabbit hole moment. >> Seme is at a very gay event -> seme must now be interested in gays in general. ( Not once does it occur to uke that seme is there for HIM. ) >> Seme is talking with a cute guy -> seme must find him attractive -> any guy will do. ( Not once does it occur to uke that the other guy hit on seme. ) THUS uke pushes seme away, completely convinced that this relationship is already beginning its inevitable downward spiral. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
Good theory, now I don't need to post confused cat emojis. Only difference in my opinion: They haven't a relationship. The seme It Zukunft doesn't seem to define their relationship he just goes with the flow and his feelings and the use goes with his anxiety (dating a straight dude, keeping distance with kissing and not calling back, but likes his attention)

Sorry, i meant "relationship" as in human connections in their most basic form, not "romantic relationship". I completely agree. Seme is going with the flow (but beginning to feel attracted by the shy smiles of the uke) and the uke.... is just anxious and negative but still wants the attention (and probably hates himself for wanting it)

I grew up in a family of actors -- everyone was (still is) REALLY into character analysis. It takes us FOREVER to watch a tv show because we constantly pause to discus character motivation, plot holes, script errors, and filming discrepancies. (Also to google and fact check the script.)
If you present a theory you must back it with evidence & precedence -- as well as cite your sources and be fully prepared to have your theory ruthlessly hacked away whoever is playing devil's advocate.

That's a good point. The hardest part in translating is adding in the subtext -- the stuff that wasn't necessarily *written* but would have been obvious to people in that language. What's common knowledge for one society is a foreign idea to another.

I don't agree with the whole smelling his shirt too but I also dont agree with the about to kiss moment either. If you look at the previous seen you see that the bottle the uke has in his hand dropped as if he rushed to get up. The same

The same was facing the tv with the perfume and the uke rushed and turn him around pulling on his shirt.
