Most Yuri is written by men. Good authors can write the opposite gender well so no need to arbitrarily restrict them.
Also, bl/gl pairings are often used to write about topics that are often socially frowned on when focusing on a certain gender so the author flips the gender. Darker topics such as sexual violence, Confinement, psychological tortu...... 1 reply
