I don’t know if it’s the translation, the pacing or if parts are missing but the plot is really hard to follow. She wakes up and says ”I’m Cecilia” as if that’s enough context, like Cecilia who? following the story I guess she became the child of her ex and quite some time has passed since her stepbrother has grown up but honestly it’s all a bit messy.
I really appreciated the lore in this chapter. The story of Zhar and Mellia feels like a mix of two greek myths.
Orpheus and Eurydice in which the husband travels to the underworld to bring back his wife. The candle remindes me of Eros and Psyke where the wife lights an oillamp to gaze upon her lovers face in the darkness but accidentally wakes him by spilling a hot drop of oil. Both of the myths however are tragedies.
