・Even assuming that *was* his true intention, it makes no sense that he didn't just say so right then and there. What he did instead was drove ML away with the ultimate insult "You're nobody with no right to be angry about my rape."

This is the result of the worst author ever, throwing her hands: she deceived legimate readers by hiding a never wanted "who's daddy" rape plot, and that rendered unusable by an unprecedented backlash. The MC was riddled with contradictions in his characterization from the very start, and the ML was insanly treated as nothing more than a prop for disgusting NTR. That’s exactly why I said S2 should be cancelled when ch31 revealed. What a sight lol

The fact that he hired Alpha, the son of the rival company that tried to burn them to death, as his secretary—someone who could cause damage to the company and himself at any time—means the premise of him being a "competent CEO" is already flawed from the very beginning. Furthermore, he completely lacks the understanding that spies spend so much time and effort to make target's guards down. Even after being drugged and got ejaculated in raw, the possibility of that never even crossed his mind, and he even believed rapist's excuses and let him go.
The phrase "I'm not evaluated properly" only makes sense after you've done your best, but this MC keeps making the worst possible choices as a CEO/Omega/human being. The fact that someone like this could become a CEO is utterly ridiculous...lol An author who already lacks even the most basic logical thinking skills and common sense, and who has never worked a proper job in society, shouldn't be writing stories about companies or work. It’s only natural for a bodyguard=Josh to prioritize stopping their charge from dying right in front of them. And Chase is rly seriously suffering from PTSD. In a situation like that, it’s understandable he wouldn’t have the bandwidth to worry about the bodyguard who got shot (unless it was Josh).
Besides, if Henry had simply done the bare minimum required of a bodyguard and locked the door, he wouldn't have gotten shot in the first place. It was clearly his own negligence. Not that i'm blaming our Henry, it’s just the poor writing of the author.
