Saw someone say Uno got nerfed in bad apple and its so funny cuz thats the reality of getting to know a person better and realizing they were nothing compared to what u expected them to be.
I knew my Kaya-chan would get me like absolutely YESSS. I mean I do get it if people say he seemed more cool in Red Candy but thats cuz we got a lot of action stuff and the way he presented himself in those situation but here we get to see him in a whole different context and how he reacts to it also I believe we will get some really cool action scenes too. Aside that, we actually know less about Uno compared to Enzo so I would love to know more about him and how even more silly and kind he can be.
Oh, I know I'm going to cry reading Enzo's backstory, but Uno... I really have no idea. We've seen the surface; it's a consistent, nice, absolutely lovely surface, but as much as we can connect the dots, I'm thirsty for his background. I feel like how he's feeling for Enzo right now is more complicated, like there's a connection, emotional/experience-wise, not a joint childhood- please not again! That's something I didn't like about Red Candy. It was... whatever!
And I thought that their age difference in the maid stories was simply a hint at their ages in the main plot, but now it feels deeper, like a part of Enzo is trapped at that age because of his trauma, manifesting his fears as other things, and Uno would help him finally grow. This is really an amazing read!
Oh I totally get u!! Childhood trauma actually fks up people so bad they don't really grow out of it easily and considering he has no place to return to, I hope Uno can be someone he can call his HOME. And yeah the maid au also made me think Enzo is very likely younger than Uno (around 25-27??) but I could be wrong too.
Yeah, I thought that too, maybe a bit younger, about 22. It only clicked now that he mentioned his main trauma began then. I mean, he had hinted about his grandfather, all that bird madness, but there's coping, and he's finally being transparent here. Wow, these two falling in love would be what we needed in our lives.
Also, if we take the AU as like their shadows, then Uno's trauma would be at the age of 17 or about that; maybe his family collapsed then, or there was a grand betrayal, or something. That's the age he's trapped at when he meets little Enzo. Man, now they can grow together!

If Enzo gets kidnapped cuz he went out to get ice cream I think it will make sense why he didn't seem too pleased with the ice cream date
awwww godddd nooo T_T
The ice cream T_T
But I think he does get kidnapped for real eventually, not by Grandpa... if so, why they're both tracking the same people, planning similar things, why even Grandpa stepped down from being the Don? I mean, that kind of ego never says, 'oh, I have too much power, let's give up half of it!'
And in the AU, little Enzo is scared of strangers, not family.
So I think if Grandpa was even involved in kidnapping him to take him away from his father, he's not the one who hurt him, not directly. He seems to adore him in his own twisted way, and even the bird metaphor now feels like he's talking from experience, like he's talking about himself, as if he had to give something up to have Enzo, and Enzo is the gem for him.
And what happened to the father, well...
Who let you in the kitchen cuz your looking so good
