The problem with Soowon idealism of making the kingdom strong by going to war to gain land and power is fundamentally flawed. During Soowon grandfathers rule, the kingdom had land and power through the fear of Soowon father BUT this didn’t last long. Less then 16 years later all the land buffer is gone and the kingdom was considered a joke. Soowon might be able to pick a good successor to take over the throne BUT he can’t ensure that his efforts will last that long after his death. Plus forcing dominance over others through fear invites rebellion which leads to the monarch forcefully suppress the rebellion leading to a vicious cycle that the next monarch might not be able to follow.

This is right only if he took the land to use it for his country's benefits only, like colonization.. but this is not true.
He RETURTED their stolen land/ or that they were too weak to save and have power over, and FIXED problems at the borders, and STRENGTHENED relationships with alles, and MADE projects to fresh markets and make them live well, so after awhile they will only be one united people, with no need to be separated.

that would be true...if all he did was supposedly colonizing other countries and 'forcing dominance' over them without caring about the inner state of kouka. the thought that you can solve everything with diplomacy is too idealistic, the country is in a vulnerable state especially after il avoided conflict just to protect the 'peace' in which he doesn't have to take responsibility and is willing to let his people starve for. he has to make sure to completely change the impression kouka has a passive ruler and set an example for those planning to invade it. after going through the period king il was on the throne there's no way people would rebel under soo won's ruling anytime soon. he doesn't punish his citizens for no reason, doesn't steal from them, works his ass off to solve inner conflicts, doesn't act like a pushover towards other countries leaders like il did... what even is there to rebel? the only thing he did which was blatantly wrong was justifying his father's war crimes

I think that we should only believe half of what the black haired x-boyfriend told the uke. It seems that the x-boyfriend treated the back hair guy exactly like the uke is being treated now (in regards to keeping tabs and calling frequently). I kinda hope that they do get together in the end BUT not until the black haired guy gets what he deserves AND changes for the better. I DO NOT want them to stay together if the relationship continues the way it is now.
