I’m all for dark romance because my taste are toxic af but I understand that there must be balance so I usually have a fluffy romance waiting as after care for my own mind. That being said I’m not judging the author if they’re in their dark romance era but they should have just started a completely new work instead of ruining my fluffy palette cleanser that was clearly already finished to cater to their new kink.

I just bought chapter 32 because I couldn't wait and I highly suggest waiting to 33 or 34 is out to avoid blue balls. Seems to be a pattern of the author stopping the chapter after giving a taste of the heat that is too come lol

Getting past the bad translations is rough but I think I managed to get the gist of it. It’s very clear that the fl not only truly loved but still loves the ml and most likely chased him brutally away for his own safety. It’s also looking very likely that Sherry could be his child based on timing and she coincidentally only takes after her mother making it easy for the father to be ambiguous. I can imagine she was forced to marry Rowen after finding out she was pregnant and I’m starting to think their relationship isn’t as loving as it seemed to others.
You take the scene when she was hallucinating about the past and Rowen forcefully picks her up and takes her away from the ML towards a forest filled with fire and blood. And also when she almost followed his illusion that was crying blood off a cliff. Makes me wonder if he wasn’t another one of her obsessed fanatics. Might even be the one that caused her leg injury to keep her from running to find the ML. The FL might even have been the one to finish him off and got rid of the body so there would be no clues but we see her feelings are conflicted because they were once genuinely friends.
I just don’t thinks it’s a coincidence that when she’s in a delirious state she calls out to the ML with such love but for her late husband she pictures him beckoning her to join him in the underworld like she has to pay for her wrongs against him. She includes him in the lives she ate along with her uncle and cousins which giving flashbacks showing bad blood between them it might be that she truly is responsible either directly or indirectly for their deaths.
She out here giving birth to all the heirs of the royal family at this point and homeboy still got on his ring looking like lost puppy. If I was a high official, I’d cause a riot demanding they get married for the sake of the empire’s stability because she’s basically the only empress they got. Author letting this bs drag on instead of letting these two fuck ups kiss kiss fall in love already for reasons I can’t fathom
