Finding two places where Guwon left “other people as dogs” hint. When he asked MC if he could take him on a walk and when he said it felt like his favorite puppy kicked sand in his face and ran off when he thought MC was afraid of him. Also seeing his expression when he was thinking about whether or not to kiss the MC is hilarious when you realize he was contemplating whether or not to allow a dog to kiss him like MC moved on from that little fact too quickly
I wonder why authors keep presenting MCs as smart, strategic and composed in the first chapters, just for it to crumble into mistakes after mistakes. Him only caring about revenge makes sense but he keeps putting himself into situations he can’t handle and acting surprised. And he acts like he knows people and how they work but then get swayed by every little thing, Still I quite like him and the story is interesting. It’s just that I’m not afraid for him but rather I’m waiting for him to see the consequences of his continuous mistakes because I understand what kind of MC we’re dealing with. You know like in horror movies people being mad at the characters for going into dangerous places and telling them “nooo don’t go there”, I’m the type to say “yes please do fuck around and find out because you won’t learn otherwise.”
There’s over a 100 chapters but I didn’t get enough of the main couple. And focusing on two couples is too distracting. Well sometimes it’s okay when the author clearly separates the storylines in seasons but here…The pacing feels choppy. At some point you couldn’t even read an entire chapter focusing on one couple. It kept switching back and forth endlessly. Also it feels like almost 50% of the whole story is about Kyungbin and Mirye. I ended up skipping their parts to read about Yugun and Ian uninterrupted. One day I may reread the whole thing focusing on Kyungbin and Mirye because they are also interesting on their own it’s just distracting to keep starting with one couple and switching to the next when things get interesting. It would have been better to make them just older brother/sunbae watching over the younger guys with a funny dynamic and hint at something more to be explored on its own in later chapters. It’s just really strange to keep finding stories that can’t focus on the main couple on the cover and summary. Are there any lists for stories that just focus on one couple. I’m realizing it’s increasingly rare for webtoons. Is there a reason for it? Are the authors thinking their second couple won’t get any interest as a standalone story? Why don’t we get covers with 4 people to show what the webtoon is really about and that they are 4 main characters. The genre could be called double date or something.
I don't mind the changing because I'm usually interested in both, but i only get crumbs because the author can't decide how much of the second couple to add in in between. I liked the way they added the second couple (at least for the dare kiss part), but the following events could have been done in a second season, it'd probably have been best
Star x Fanboy and The Best Smell both focus on one couple. I need more with only one couple as the focus I HATE side couples bc the whole point of the story & plot that I was reading for was for the main couple in the first place! That being said, I liked the side couple in this story, which is EXTREMELY rare for me.
I like the second couple too or at least I like them a lot as characters since I skipped a lot of their romance. I just don’t like how they were incorporated. Felt like the reader were served 4 main characters instead of the 2 they came for. I have many stories where I love the second couple as much or even more than the main one like Rivalry and Love So Pure. I have some stories where I’m not interested in the second couple or where I really dislike their dynamics and I appreciate that the other either make them some small interlude or wait to give them a whole season or the side stories
Yes that’s what it felt like! 4 mcs rather than the main couple. I felt like they should’ve hinted at the side couples relationship cuz I didn’t mind their bickering and stuff but they just had way too much screen time to my liking. Author coulda just put them in the side story where the side couples usually goes. But I love it the most when there’s only 1 couple to focus on the story. I sometimes feel like maybe the author can’t put out a good story with just one couple
I mean usually the pattern is to give a love story to the second ML. It feels right because readers feel bad for the one not ending up with the MC and want to see them happy too. But at some point it feels like a secondary couple became the norm even without a love triangle. In those stories, I think some authors can keep the readers interest with just one couple but they use the second couple to make the story longer. I’ve noticed that it’s usually when something big happens with the first couple or we get real progress that authors suddenly introduce a second couple and focus on them for a few chapters. It feels like some delay tactics. Otherwise I’m thinking the author has the other couple they’d like to showcase but they can’t give them their own story so they insert them in another’s couple story. Sometimes the readers love the second couple but in many cases I see comments about waiting for the author to return to the main couple and skipping the chapters.

But by chapter 10 I’m wondering where is the part about the ML caring about not hurting the MC lol. I guess when it’s about him feeling good, the MC crying and complaining about pain doesn’t matter lol. I’ll keep going to see if it gets better but it’s so funny how MLs are only upset about MCs being hit and shit only to not give a fuck when it’s time to get their dick wet, treating the bottom like a fleshlight.
Tbf, I'm on the last chapter and that doesn't get any better. I assume that the author is expecting us to interpret the smut scenes like consensual rough roleplay. Especially considering that, spoilers:
There's a scene where mc is upset when ml stops.
But I can't avoid feeling weirded out by the amount of crying and pleas to stop every time they have sex, because the manhwa is not explicitly presenting it as a scene rather than plain abuse. And off the top of my head I remember that ml gets a bit more borderline abusive at a certain point and mc reacts, we don't really see the difference between what was going on normally and in that instance.
So yeah, imo, the manhwa is doing an awful job at separating the consensual non-consensual kink from the actual SA.
Yeah I stopped at chapter 14. The fact that ML is meant to be the guy that shows MC how to be in a relationship where he’s cared for and he can’t even allow MC to go get lube for his freaking first time. Like fuck his potential pain and discomfort. Oh and the fact that being told MC was doing it for the first time didn’t make him stop but instead had him acting even more like douche hornball. Like the author position the master as the bad guy while giving us a subpar ML like poor MC for improving his situation but just barely .
