I’m kind of in the same boat. Most of the people I hang out with at uni are just close acquaintances rather than real friends. Even outside class, we mostly talk about professors, lectures, exams, etc.
I’ve tried sharing my interests and asking about theirs, but we don’t really have much in common, so it’s hard to connect on that level. I...... reply
I remember there was a reddit thread (around 4 years ago) where one of the users had a tutorial on how you could back up your lists via a script (latest version was 1.2.4). Hey everyone. I’m a fellow user who’s been on the site since 2019, and I had a reading list with over 12,000 entries.
After seeing what some Mangago users were saying about waiting for data restoration, I decided to be patient. For a while, that actually paid off since I got a couple hundred titles back (a mix of rated and unrated).
At some point, though, the restorations stopped entirely. I reached out to the webmaster to ask about the status, and this was their response:
“One of our data disks crashed and we lost part of the user data several days ago. We can only restore manga that were rated or tagged when added to the list.”
So… yeah. That’s basically the situation. Either it’s time to drop the site and touch some grass, or start rebuilding our lists manually because everything else is gone.
Staked my whole education on it too. Don't know what to do anymore, if I were to stay positive I would be undermining my effort during this last year while I was working on my application; not staying positive would mean that I would be depressed since I've fallen behind from my home countries educational system and have gone past the point of keeping up. What to do?
